Chapter 601 Family Happiness (Part One)
Cherry and Jackson walked down the stairs slowly, enjoying the pleasant sound ofughter resonating
in their house. They walked into the living room and saw the three kids ying and chasing each other.
"Daddy, when did you get back? I really missed you!" Violet eximed in pleasant surprise upon seeing
her father. She gleefully ran toward the staircase to hug him.
"I came back an hour ago. I see you''ve been ying; did you finish your homework first?" Jackson
asked his daughter, holding her hands tenderly.
"Hello, Uncle Jackson," Alice greeted him politely.
"Hi, Alice! Oh my, you''re a lot taller than before!" Jackson smiled as he looked at her. She was the
same age as his daughter and was Derek''s little sweetheart.
"Yes, I am," Alice replied briefly and gave Jackson a wide grin.
"Daddy, thanks to my brother, Alice and I have finished our homework," Violet exined in an all-
important tone.
"Violet, are youplimenting me?" Lawrence responded indifferently.
"Lawrence, stop being so snooty. I am only saying nice things about you in front of Daddy. Why are you
so arrogant? I don''t owe you anything! Are you putting on that face because you''re short of money? If
you don''t have pocket money, tell me and I''ll lend mine to you." Violet was such an eloquent talker that
she silenced Lawrence immediately.
Lawrence had no other choice but to seek his mother''s help. "Mommy! Look at your daughter. She''s so
cheeky!" Lawrenceined, candidly admitting defeat in front of his sister. He too thought he had a
silver tongue but his sister excelled him at it. Compared to him, Violet was as shrewd and sharp-witted,
if not better.
Cherry smiled and shook her head helplessly. Instead of replying to her son, she grasped Alice''s arm
and led her to sit on the sofa.
"Are you frustrated, Lawrence? Even Mommy wouldn''t help you, haha!" Violet eximed triumphantly.
She made a smug face at him, looking high-blown.
"Alice, don''t tease your brother," Lily advised in a soft voice when she got out of the kitchen and saw
Violet and Lawrence arguing with each other.
"Lily, I am not teasing him. I am serious," Violet turned to Lily and replied immediately.
Lily smiled and didn''t utter another word.
"Aunt Cherry, your family is so lively and bustling that I''ve decided toe to your home more
frequently," Alice told Cherry in excitement.
"You are always wee! Anyway, our houses are so close that you cane over any time. Your
uncle could send you home safely afterward," Cherry responded.
"Don''t do that, Mommy! Your sworn daughter is not to be messed with. If Alicees here daily to be
with your daughter, the roof will blow up," Lawrence expressed his discontent. It was a headache to be
with these little girls. He even regretted asking his mother to give birth to a daughter. If that hadn''t
happened, he would never have been this annoyed now.
"Lawrence, I am very well-behaved," Alice said mischievously. In most adults'' eyes, she was tender
anddy-like. However, behind their backs, she became naughty and boisterous, just like Violet.
Looking at the lovely Alice, Lawrence couldn''t believe that she was the same girl who had shouted and
fought with him earlier in the study. She even sat on the chair and asked Lawrence to kneel next to her
and tutor her! He gritted his teeth out of hatred.
When she heard no response from Lawrence, Alice turned to look at Violet. In an expectant voice, she
said,"What do you say, Violet?"
"Yes, I can testify for Alice. She is very well-behaved," Violet agreed spontaneously. She patted her
chest with a small hand, trying to convince others.
"You two look lovely and tame when you''re with us. How are you like behind our backs?" Cherry
smiled. She knew very well what the kids were like.
"Mommy, how could you say that? You''ve spoiled my mood!" Violet pretended to be wronged and
grabbed her Daddy''s hand, hoping that he at least would side with her.
"Aunt Cherry, am I not your sworn daughter?" Alice also pretended to be aggrieved. She slipped her
hand in Cherry''s, looking delicate and piteous.
The behavior of the two kids made Cherry burst out withughter. She didn''t know what to do with
them.
Lawrence walked over and sat beside his mother. He put his hand on her shoulder. "Mommy, you are
the best! I always knew you are the greatest Mommy in the world! It''s been confirmed today," he said
with a grin.
"Oh, you chatterbox!" Cherry looked at her son and chuckled.
"Mommy, Mommy!" Violet suddenly got rid of Daddy''s arm and ran to her mother. She pushed away
her brother aggressively and ordered,"Lawrence, let go of my Mommy! Mommy is mine!"
"Who said that? Mommy is mine," Lawrence retorted, not willing to be outdone. He had been taken
advantage of by this little girl too many times now. He wouldn''t give in this time.
"Mommy can''t be yours! She is Alice''s and mine. What do you think, Alice?" Violet winked at Alice,
signaling thetter to help her.
"Violet is right. Aunt Cherry is our Mommy!" Alice echoed, immediately understanding Violet''s meaning.
Alice ran over and held Cherry''s left arm, while Violet held Cherry''s right arm. Together they formed a
human wall. Lawrence had no chance to get close to Cherry now.
Cherry was engulfed in the two girls'' sweet and warm love. She took a look at Jackson and saw him
smile faintly. He didn''t fight the kids for Cherry''s love. Perhaps he knew that he would be easily
defeated by the three kids, especially by the two girls.
Lawrence finally gave up vying for his Mommy''s affection. So what if he had lost this battle? Mommy
was in his heart and in any case, these two girls were just impossible to deal with.
Meanwhile, the doorbell rang. Lily rushed over to open the door. It was Amy.

As Amy walked into the living room, she saw that everyone present had a big smile on their faces. The
two girls were locked in an embrace with Cherry.
"Mommy, you are here!" Alice was thrilled to see her Mommy.
"Yes, I came to pick you up," Amy said. "But Alice, Violet, what are you doing?" She looked at the odd
scene and couldn''t help but ask.
"We are protecting Mommy from Lawrence," Violet raced to reply. She then cast a sidelong look in his
direction.
"Amy, don''t listen to them. They are just ying around!" Cherry exined hastily.
