Chapter 549 Grand Wedding (Part Four)


    "Cherry, is something bothering you?" Amy noticed Cherry''s vacant expression and asked out of


    concern.


    Mond heard Amy''s words, too. He turned to Cherry and looked into her eyes.


    When Cherry saw Mond turn his head to her, she quickly averted to avoid eye contact with him.


    However, Mond noticed.

    everything okay?"


    "Yes, everything is alright!" Cherry nodded, forcing a smile.


    Amy nced at Mond who was staring in the other direction, with a poker face. She then looked at


    Cherry again and guessed what was happening.


    She figured that maybe Cherry wanted to talk to Mond in private and so quickly excused herself to go


    to the bathroom,"I''ll be right back Cherry; just stay here. Okay?" she said as she left.


    "Okay, I will," said Cherry, nodding.


    Amy turned to Mond and said,"Will you keep an eye on her for me, while I''m gone?"


    "Okay," replied Mond.


    Looking at Amy''s receding figure, Mond inquired,"What was wrong with you just now, Cherry? Why did


    you look so forlorn?"


    "I was thinking of Jean," said Cherry simply. She knew she should not bring up Jean on such a happy


    day. However, she could not help but be honest with Mond always. And she missed her sister, who had


    sacrificed her life only to save her and her son, Joe.


    Mond didn''t immediatelyment on Cherry''s words. He looked ahead, staring into the space vacantly


    with a wine ss in his hand. Nobody knew how much he missed Jean.


    Mond was silent as Cherry continued,"Why don''t you find a new ce to live in now? Don''t live in that


    vi. The memories must bring you so much pain."


    Cherry would never understand Mond''s feelings. There were so many memories of Jean; how could he


    forget them all? He may never stop missing her ever.


    "I don''t want to talk about her now," said Mond suddenly. His voice was weak and feeble.


    Cherry very well understood Mond''s heart. He had grown up without the warmth of rtives around


    him and that had turned his heart cold.


    "Mond," Cherry said tenderly,"Would you like to live with us?"


    These words stumped him as he looked at Cherry with an astonished expression on his face. Was she


    inviting him back into the Chu family? "Does Jackson know you''re thinking about this?


    Do you think he''ll agree?" Mond was curious.


    Cherry nodded hard and said,"Of course. I think Jackson will be very happy to have you as well."


    Cherry was sure that Jackson wouldn''t say no to this. Even though they had not discussed it, she knew


    he would agree. Mond was his brother, the only one he had in this world. And Jackson had never


    regarded him as an enemy ever - in fact he wanted things to be good between them.


    But suddenly Mond eximed in a firm voice,"I don''t agree to this! Stop trying to be so kind hearted all


    the time and look after yourself properly. Don''t get involved in other people''s business."


    Mond''s tone was a little harsh. Cherry sat there motionless, wondering whether she had said anything


    wrong.


    The atmosphere around them was tense now. They both sat next to each other trying to look normal


    and trying to avoid each other.


    But then, Mond realized that he had been extremely rude to Cherry. He figured that she must be really


    angry now.


    Mondposed himself and looked at Cherry to apologize to her,"I am sorry for being so rude Cherry.


    I acted on impulse. I should not have talked that way with you." Mond was genuine in his apology. He


    had been feeling like he was doomed to be alone all his life with no family member around him. He


    could not bear to think of the life he had lived before this happened.


    "Please don''t apologize to me," Cherry said,"Ipletely understand. I am just worried about you. The


    thought of your living all alone in that house concerns me, because if you continue to do so you will


    never be able to free yourself from the memories. I want you to live an easier life, which is why I asked.


    But if you don''t want to, let''s just forget about this. Anyway there are so many vis in the city, you


    could live anywhere."


    Mond replied,"I will move out in some time. I really appreciate your concern about me."


    Cherry did not say anything to that. But in that moment she realized that she did not know anything


    about Mond. She did not know him very well, nor did she know about the kind of life he wanted to live.


    She did not even know how Mond felt about Jackson


    Once again, the atmosphere was stiff with tension. To break the awkwardness, Mond asked her,"So


    how is your health Cherry?"


    "I''m fine. I have another doctor''s appointmenting soon," she replied. She knew that Mond was


    trying to get rid of the awkwardness and so she did not go back to the topic of homes either.


    "Well, take good care of yourself. This is a special period for you," said Mond.


    "Everything goes well. Joe has been very obedient recently. I don''t need to worry about him. Jackson
