Chapter 516 A Better Mond (Part One)
Having had a long day, the three of them dragged their feet after reaching home. They washed up and
changed into their home clothes. They sat together to have dinner. Joe''s favorite dish had been made
for him and he couldn''t resist the vors of the yummy momos.
"Mom, tomorrow is Saturday." Joe grinned, as he turned to Cherry. He wanted to do something fun for
he was tired of sitting at home during weekends.
"Yeah, you don''t have to go to school," Cherry replied. "Aren''t you happy?"
"Yes, that''s true but Mom, what''s our n?" Joe asked. ''I can''t waste wonderful weekends. I should do
something meaningful, '' he told himself.
Cherry ruminated for a while, and said to Jackson," How about we invite my sister and Mond for
dinner?" It had been a while since she had hung out with them and she would always be grateful for
their help during the initial stages of her pregnancy. Having them over for dinner would be a wonderful
way to thank them.
Jackson froze when he heard this. He stared at Cherry with surprise and confusion. He had the
expression of a deer seeing the headlights of a car. ''Why did she suddenly ask to eat with Mond?'' he
wondered.
Having noticed Jackson''s amazement, Joe shifted his gaze to look at Cherry. It looked like he had
started an interesting conversation that could potentially turn into a fight.
"What''s wrong?" Cherry asked her husband while looking at him. She didn''t understand the reason for
his expression. ''Did I say anything wrong?'' she thought. She didn''t think so.
"No. I was just surprised to hear you saying that," Jackson replied, and then lowered his head with a
burning face.
''He shouldn''t have known that I have discovered the nature of his rtionship with Mond. It''s normal to
see his respond like this, '' Cherry thought.
"Jackson, I just want to have my sister over for a meal. There''s nothing more to it," Cherry exined.
"You know that I lived in Mond''s house for a while, and he also provided a shelter for my sister. I feel a
connection to them and that''s why I asked to dine with them. That''s all," she added. She didn''t want
Jackson to have any incorrect assumptions.
"I see," Jackson nodded after hearing Cherry''s words. ''I don''t hate Mond. But I don''t know if he will sit
at the same table and eat with me, '' he wondered.
"Since you don''t have a problem with it, I''ll call my sister. How about we eat at a restaurant instead of at
home?" Cherry offered. ''I have no idea if Mond will ept my invitation for dinner or not. He might feel
awkward and refuse outright if we eat at home. There is a greater likelihood of him epting it if we eat
outside, '' she thought.
"Well, it''s your call," Jackson answered coolly for he had no opinion on this matter. He wanted to get it
over with as fast as possible.
"Mom, then let''s meet them this Saturday. I haven''t seen Auntie for long. I miss her and want to spend
some time with her," Joe said to Cherry cheekily after he observed that Jackson''s reluctance to the
idea of the dinner.
"Joe, son, you''re my favorite. We always have the same thoughts," Cherry praised, smiling. Now that
he was growing up and taking her side on most family matters, she was beginning to appreciate his
existence greatly.
"Of course I am," Joe grinned. ''Mom must want dad to meet uncle Mond. It''s a good idea, they could
make up and be close, '' he thought.
Cherry gazed at Jackson silently and said to herself, ''Jackson, you and Mond are brothers. I don''t like
seeing you both on bad terms like this. I fervently hope and wish that you two get along well and
be brothers by nature, not just by blood.''
After finishing dinner, Cherry sat in the hall and called Jean up, albeit nervously.
"Hi, Cherry, what''s up?" Jean asked in surprise as she answered the phone. Her sister rarely ever
called her. ''Why has she called me at this hour?'' she wondered.
"Jean, are you free tomorrow?" I intend to treat you and Mond to a meal. Both of you went to so much
trouble when I lived with you, I wish to reciprocate," Cherry replied gently, with a smile on her face,
while gripping the phone tightly.
"Cherry, what is the necessity for such formalities? We''re sisters, for Heaven''s sake," Jean declined.
She didn''t require any repayment. She had taken care of her little sister because she loved her and it
was part of her duty.
"Jean, please don''t turn me down. I have already told Jackson and Joe and they both agreed to eat
with you," Cherry said. "Besides, Joe said that he misses you because he hasn''t seen you for a long
time."
"Really? Did he really say that?" Jean asked, feeling a sudden rush of emotions. She felt immense love
for her nephew on hearing that he missed her. She had missed him too.
"Yes, he did. If you don''t believe my words, you can ask him yourself tomorrow," Cherry answered with
a smile. "Jean, just agree. Come on, we all want to see you," she continued persuasively.
"Fine, I will meet you tomorrow for Joe''s sake. Dress him in cute clothes and bring him to me," Jean
agreed.
"Got it," Cherry responded in relief, and then continued," Well, please ask Mond toe with you."
"Mond isn''t at home," Jean said. "How about you give him a call? If you invite him yourself, he might
agree toe," she went on after some pause.
Jean was aware of Mond''s hatred for Jackson. ''If Mondes there tomorrow, he''ll meet Jackson. I

can''t imagine what might happen between them. If Cherry asks him toe, he might give in. He
always makes unexpected decisions whenever Cherry is involved, '' she pondered.
"I get it, I''ll call him," Cherry acknowledged.
Jean ''hmmed'' on the other end of the phone.
"Jean, then go to bed early. I will text the time and address to you. Don''t forget to check. I''ll be waiting
for you," Cherry said gaily.
"I will. You sleep early too. Say ''Good night!'' to Joe for me," Jean said.
"Sure, good night to you too." Cherry returned as she ended their conversation.
Jackson and Joe were ying Joe''s favorite video game in the hall, in the meantime. When Joe saw
Cherry hang up, he asked her while focusing on his game," What did Auntie say?"
"She said that she woulde on time. But..." Cherry replied but paused for a while when she realized
that she''d better keep away Mond''s matter from her son. She then continued," Your aunt asked you to
go to sleep early and said ''Good night!'' to you."
"Well, I see," Joe responded. After some thinking, he kept aside the remote control and turned to
Jackson," But dad, tomorrow is Saturday. Shouldn''t I be allowed to y a little longer?"
