Chapter 494 All Secrets (Part Two)
It was easy to understand Jackson''s behaviour. He was always one to put up even the most desperate
fight for the person he loved.
"Afterwards, Mr. Andrew sent out his people for information. They found something much more serious
that could attract the public''s attention. Using this information, Mr. Andrew directed his spearhead at
the An Family, leaving Stephen''s parents in the firing line. Militarymand rxed their hold on the
He Family case and Mr. Andrew used all his connections to exploit loopholes and legally saved Sally, "
Derek continued.
"Sally was free? She got the chance to run?" Cherry asked, on the edge of her seat.
"Yes, sort of. Unfortunately, both her parents and Stephen''s parents were still sent to military court.
After that, the remaining He Family and An Family members vanished."
It had never urred to Cherry that something like that was what had turned Sally''s childhood into
tragedy andpletely changed Stephen''s as well.
"Mr. Andrew made a wless arrangement with Sally in the beginning. He sent her to en extremely
remote and small ce. If at all possible, she would never return to this city again. However, everyone
overlooked one crucial yet small point, " Derek paused again to allow Cherry time to process.
"It was Mond, right?" Cherry guessed.
Derek nodded in confirmation. "Mond had already been watching the whole event as it unfolded. He
used it to devise his revenge n and Sally would be one of the people he would use in his plot."
Sitting quietly as Derek spoke, it became clear to Cherry that she didn''t have that wistful longing to
know all the details. At least she now understood what actually happened that year.
"After the ident, Stephen had been taken in by one of his rtives. By the time you and Jackson got
married, we had found out Stephen had returned, with a likely profound hatred of Jackson in his heart.
If Jackson hadn''t been so desperate to protect Sally, the An Family wouldn''t have been implicated and
Stephen''s parents would have escaped. So, we understood his feelings, but it never urred to us that
Stephen would be with Mond. We think Mond was making his detailed n the whole time. He was
aware that he could use both Sally and Stephen against Jackson. He''s quite a brilliant man!"
Sometimes Derek even admired Mond for his intelligence. He was younger than Derek, and raised
without his parents. How could he take so many possibilities and events into ount? It must be
difficult.
"Everything is possible for him, as Grandpa Andrew gave him arge sum of money, " Cherry added
when Derek fell silent.
"That''s true, " he agreed. "Maybe the ZM Group was established with that money. Sister, you know the
amount he received. It''s enough for him to have established ten ZM Groups, " Derek replied.
She did agree, it was a veryrge sum of money.
The two fell into silence together. Derek had nothing more to say now and Cherry knew everything
about Mond and Sally.
"Sister, you know the truth now. Do you have any n about what to do next?" Derek asked, breaking
the hush.
"I only desire to protect my family well, " Cherry answered firmly, although she still considered her
options. She had realised that Jackson had never really had a happy life, losing his parents when he

was very small. The ident with Sally and Stephen, the revtion of Mond''s existence and his
Father''s infidelity left him in pain. But Jackson had never hated Mond. Understandable. Cherry thought
if she was Jackson, she wouldn''t be able to bring herself to hate Mond either. The poor younger
Brother had never gotten love from his Father. A lonely boy without a warm family. That was why he
was so wayward and had to have everything a certain way. He hated Jackson because of jealousy.
Brothers, and yet Jackson received everything while Mond got nothing but ''hush money''. He even
needed to hide his own family ties from others.
"Sister, I know your rtionship with Jackson, which is why I''m willing to tell you this. And I hope you
can understand Jackson''s heart too. He feels hopeless. Though he looks powerful and able to take
whatever is thrown at him, he has a fragile heart. How could he not be sad when he heard his Father
had an affair with another woman? "Jackson was so small when his parents passed away. He had
nothing to do but endure the dark of those endless nights. He didn''t have a better life than anyone else,
" Derek exined glumly. He knew Jackson so well by now that Jackson didn''t even have to speak a
word: Derek could read his mind by his face.
Finally understanding her husband better, Cherry couldn''t help bursting into tears. As she sniffled, she
nodded at Derek. "I know it clear now. The five years I lived abroad with Joe, I always med myself
for not providing Joe with aplete family. I knew how important families and the warmth of home
were for a small child. Every time I helped Joe fall asleep, I cried quietly. I missed Jackson and hated
myself. If I wasn''t so selfish and hadn''t left Jackson in the beginning, Joe would have seen his Daddy
when he came into the world. Now he''s able to grow up happily with aplete family."
Cherry''s revtion and realisation moved Derek deeply. "I''m so happy you can understand Jackson.
It''s what will help your rtionship with him so much if you two can just understand each other."
Wiping at her tears, she looked sadly at Derek. "Derek, can you promise me one thing?"
"What is it?" Derek asked.
"I know you have a good rtionship with Jackson, and you two keep no secrets. But, Derek, could
you not tell Jackson I know this? I don''t want to be a burden on him by making him worry about me. I''m
clear about what I should do next, as well as how to love Jackson, Joe and how to protect our home. Of
course, I won''t mention these past things to Jackson, and then he''ll never find out it was you who told
me, " Cherry pleaded.
"But..." Derek worried. He''d never hidden anything from Jackson and didn''t know how to respond to her
request. He wanted to respect her wishes, but to keep secrets from Jackson?
