Chapter 487 As Close As Brothers (Part One)
When Mond got hometer he saw Cherry sitting out on the balcony, reading a magazine. The way the
sunshine shone down on her as she sat there gave the illusion of a dream.
Mond took his jacket off, hung it up and strolled out onto the balcony.
Cherry felt rather than saw someone wasing up behind her and turned around in her seat. She
saw it was Mond and smiled at him, "Hello, you''re home early!"
"Yes, are you enjoying this beautiful, warm day?" Mond asked as he sat down next to Cherry.
Cherry nodded, "Yes, it would be a shame to sit cooped up in a room all day when it is so lovely out
here, " she asked, "Why are you back so early today? Don''t they need you at yourpany?"
Mond shook his head exining, "No, there''s nothing serious or urgent that requires my attention
there. I have other people handling things and don''t need to worry about the office today."
Cherry nodded her head and went back to reading.
Mond offered, "If you are bored, we can go for a drive, " Mond didn''t really know how to care for a
pregnant woman, but he did know how to rx.
Cherry refused, "Oh no, that would be too much of a hassle, " she chuckled, in a good mood and asked
Mond, "Well, now that you mention car rides, it reminds me of the other day when I fainted. What
happened to my car?"
Mond replied, "I had my people send it for maintenance. Do you want to use the car? If you do, I can
call and have it delivered." That day when Cherry fainted, Mond was rushed making sure Cherry was
alright, and had made a call to have someone take the car right to a shop for repairs.
"Yes please, I''d like to go home to get some things."
"Go home?" echoed Mond. Her announcement threw him for a loop. She had just seen Jacksonst
night, and now she wanted to go home. Did she want to leave?
"Mmhhmm, yes, I want to make sure everything is okay there, " Cherry replied absently as looked off
into the distance, feeling a little homesick. True, the view here was breathtaking, but the one from her
vi was reassuring for her, where dwelt the people she loved and most importantly, her son. She loved
her own home, although Mond''s house felt like a safe haven for her; the sce helped her mood.
Mond quietly said, "Oh, " then went silent.
Cherry noticed that Mond looked unhappy, and stared at his face thinking he was like a child.
Sometimes, during a tantrum, he was as childish as her son, Joe. However, when she needed help, he
was always there supporting her. The proof that he cared about her was in his deeds, which moved her
greatly.

Cherry ced the magazine down, stood up, adjusting her dress and smiling at Mond, and said,
"Would you join me for lunch today? I''ll go see if it is ready."
Mond merely nodded in agreement. A strange feeling grew inside him when Cherry walked by him on
her way to the kitchen.
Cherry, Mond and Jean sat and had lunch together. When they finished, Cherry drove to her vi.
When she arrived at the vi, Cherry went in. Lily was cleaning the living room, and turned to see who
was there. When she saw it was Cherry, she smiled and shouted in surprise, "Mrs. Cherry, you''re
home!"
Cherry forced a smile, "Yes, how''s everything been here Lily?"
Lily replied happily, "Good! Good, everything has been fine, " She thought to herself, ''Cherry''s finally
back, so, Jackson won''t be angry all the time anymore. This home will be as happy as it used to be.''
Cherry said, "Alright, you can get back to your work. I''ll be upstairs."
Lily nodded her head, "Okay."
After Cherry had gone upstairs, Lily felt the urge to tell Jackson, so she dialed his number.
Jackson''s phone showed he had an iing call from home, and he knew that it would be Lily. So, he
answered the phone, "Hi, Lily, what''s up?"
Lily uttered excitedly, "Mr. Jackson! Mrs. Cherry is back home now!"
Jackson was astonished and asked, "She''s there now?" He was confused as to why she had returned
home already. He saw herst night and she told him then that she would be home in a few days. So,
why was she there today? Plus, she hadn''t called him ahead. Since Cherry was at the house now, did
that mean she hade to her senses and wouldn''t be staying at Mond''s anymore?
Lily grinned ear to ear as she told Jackson, "Yes, yes. She''s here now, Mr. Jackson, but I think she
might leave shortly. So if you''re not busy, you shoulde home fast."
Lily was worried that Cherry might leave because she''d seen Cherry only had one bag. What if she
was just here to get something? Then again, maybe she wasn''t here to pick up something, but would
never leave again. Lily wasn''t sure what Cherry was up to.
Jackson spoke rapidly as he headed out of the office, "Okay, got it. I''ll be there soon!" he clicked the
phone off heading to his car.
Cherry closed the door behind her when she got to her bedroom. As she stood in the familiar room and
breathed deeply the scents, memories flooded her mind. But Cherry decided to get down to business
first.
Walking into the bathroom, Cherry started by examining a towel where she found some short hairs.
After making sure they were Jackson''s, she took out a clear stic baggie from her bag and carefully
ced the hair in it. Then she put the baggie back to her purse.
Afterward, she went back to the bedroom and sat by the window staring out at the scenery.
Sitting alone as she watched the world on the other side of the pane, it dawned on Cherry that she
enjoyed the tranquil solitude and wasn''t quite sure when it happened or why. Perhaps, her longing for a
life of ease had to do with the baby growing in her womb.
As she gazed out at the scenery, Cherry daydreamed about what life might bring in the future. If her
baby was the much sought after daughter Jackson wished for, and their family would beplete.
Then again, if she had a second son, he might be as delightfully mischievous, clever and practical as
Joe. She smiled dreamily at the thoughts swirling in her head.
