    Mond waited anxiously at the door of the hospital emergency room, feeling very guilty about the mess


    he had caused. He was responsible for all of it and it wouldn''t have happened if he hadn''t intended to


    cause a rift between Cherry and Jackson. Due to him, Cherry had fainted and was now in a fragile


    state. She hadnded up in the emergency room.


    Drowning in guilt, Mond stared at the hospital ceiling in anguish. Maybe he should stop his thirst for


    revenge before something goes horribly wrong. He decided there were other options avable to him.


    What if he had a calm, rational discussion with Jackson and sorted things out? Then, he could finally


    be at peace and the past would be the past. That would mean that Cherry wouldn''t be dragged into his


    ns again and she could lead the life she wanted.

    At that moment, the door of the emergency room pushed open and a doctor came out. While Mond


    was debating what his n of action would be, the door of the emergency room opened and his heart


    skipped a beat. A doctor came out to give news on Cherry, Mond rushed to the doctor and asked


    hurriedly, "Doctor, is she okay?"


    "Yes, all of her vitals are stable and she''s also awake. You may go in to talk to her, " assured the doctor.


    Mond rushed into the room to check on Cherry.


    Cherryy on the bed with a pale face. Her disposition looked weak and she had no expressions on her


    face. When Mond came in, she did not even react to his presence and stared at the television instead.


    She med Mond for the whole incident though he had helped her by bringing her here. If he hadn''t


    called her and told her about Jackson sleeping in thepound, none of this would have happened.

    Mond walked towards Cherry''s bed and worry bloomed in his heart. She looked very weak and


    helpless. He asked with concern, "Cherry, Are you okay? Are you ufortable now? Does it hurt?"


    Cherry stubbornly ignored his words and continued her stare battle with the television. She had no


    desire to speak to him.


    Interrupting the awkward silence in the air, a doctor walked in expectantly, with a file in hand. She was


    middle-aged and female, who specialized in treating women.


    "Are you Cherry?" The doctor looked at Cherry and scolded her, "Being a pregnant woman, you need


    to take better care of your health as well as your baby. You can''t afford to fall sick like this. Don''t forget,


    you still have 8 months to go before delivery."


    Next, she fixed her eyes on Mond and instructed, "Take good care of your wife and give in to all her


    demands, even if they are erratic. Make sure she gets plenty of vitamins for her nutrition and gets good


    sleep too. Currently, she is very weak and cannot afford to stay upte from now on."


    Ever since the doctor had begun talking about pregnancy, Cherry and Mond''s heads had been


    spinning. They just stared at the doctor speechless, mouths agape.


    "Doctor, what did you just say? I''m pregnant?!" Cherry couldn''t believe what the doctor just said. She


    was pregnant? She was going to have another child? The news was slowly sinking through her mind.


    But the timing was horrible. It looked like she and Jackson were going to end things. She didn''t want


    another baby with him.


    Mond also looked at the doctor in shock, trying to process the news they had just heard. Was Cherry


    really pregnant? Though he wasn''t her husband, he did want to take care of her. After all, it was his


    fault she had ended up in this situation. He just hoped that she would gradually get better and be fine.


    "Yes, you are one month pregnant. Congrattions! The details are in this file, go through it, " said the


    doctor, handing Cherry the file. She then left the ward to give them some space.


    Cherry looked at the file and had paradoxical emotions. On one hand, she was excited to have another


    child. But as soon as she remembered the precarious position with Jackson, her heart grew heavy and


    she became anxious. Her emotions burst and she began crying out loud, "No! I''m not pregnant! How


    can it be possible? The doctor is just messing with me."


    Seeing Cherry''s agitation, Mond soothed her, "It''s going to be okay, don''t worry. I will be there for you,


    even if Jackson is not. Please calm down."


    "Tell me it''s not true! It can''t be! It''s impossible, " Cherry finally let out, unable to stop her tears.


    Mond was at a loss of what to do. He had no idea how to deal with her when she was being emotional.


    Suddenly, he hugged her in an attempt tofort her.


    "It''s okay. Yes, you''re pregnant but everything will work out. Calm down, " assured Mond.


    Cherry fell weakly into Mond''s chest and cried, "Five years ago, Jackson was with Sally when I was


    pregnant, and I worked so hard to bring Joe up by myself. And now..." Cherry copsed into Mond''s


    chest andpletely wet his shirt with her tears. She cried into it while saying, "I went through a


    pregnancy all on my own five years ago when Jackson was with Sally. I brought Joe up by myself but I


    can''t do it..."


    Cherry didn''tplete her sentence but instead said, "No! I refuse to believe the result!"


    Mond''s eyes got misty as he understood Cherry''s pain and anguish. She had already been through a


    pregnancy on her own, without the support of her husband. It must have been a painful period and she


    couldn''t possibly do it all again. She was afraid that she would be alone again during her pregnancy,


    with nobody to take care of her. She was afraid of the hard life of a single mother, now with two kids


    instead of just one.


    "Easy! It''s okay, Cherry, I''m here with you." Mond didn''t know what to say. No words seemed to hold


    any weight in light of the gravity of the situation.


    Cherry gradually calmed down, but she just stared nkly ahead, without saying a word. She needed


    some time and space to process her pregnancy.


    After a while, Cherry and Mond walked out of the hospital while Mond supported her with his arm.


    As they stood at the door of the hospital, Mond asked, "Where are you going? I''lle with you


    wherever you want to go."


    Cherry continued to ignore him and gave no answer.


    Mond waited for a long time and found that Cherry had no intention of answering him, he then looked at


    the line of her sight. Jackson was standing nearby.


    Jackson didn''t even get angry when he saw Cherry standing together with Mond, but just fixed his eyes


    on Cherry, realized she was pale. He wanted to protect her on seeing her emaciated body. He wanted


    to hold her tightly in his arms, and give her all his tenderness. In this lifetime, he wanted to give all his


    love and tenderness to only Cherry, but the question was, was she willing to ept it?
