Chapter 366 My Goal Is Not Her (Part One)

Jackson immediately replied, "No, no! Grandpa, please let me handle everything. I know the best, and

please trust me. I promise you that I will never meet Sally again." He didn''t want anything unexpected

to happen, because if Andrew also meddled in his affairs, then things would only get worse. Mond had

already been too big of a headache for him, and he didn''t want to be worried about more things than

    necessary.

Instead of replying to Jackson''s words of promise, Andrew sighed, and ruefully said, "If I hadn''t agreed

with you to save Sally many years ago, we wouldn''t have been in this terrible situation now, the people

of the An Family wouldn''t have been implicated, and Mond''s matter wouldn''t have been exposed."

Hearing Andrew''s scolding words, Jackson just lowered his head in silence.

He knew better than anyone else what had happened years ago. He had been too young and restless

at that time, so he had decided to protect Sally, despite the objections that he got from his friends and

family. He had even stood up to Andrew to protect her, and in the end, Andrew had agreed to help him

as he wished. He had no way of knowing that things would turn out like they did in present times, and

he felt that the current situation wasplex and difficult to solve.

Jackson didn''t say a word for quite a long time.

Andrew steadily stood up, but before he left, he said to his grandson, "Jackson, you should never let

Cherry down. Don''t be like your father, and be careful to protect Cherry and Joe, because they are the

only family that you can rely on for the rest of your life."

After he said this, he turned around and left.

As Jackson watched him leave, he said to himself, ''Grandpa, don''t worry, I will protect Cherry and Joe.

They are the most important people for me, and I''ll never abandon them.''

When he returned to the bedroom, he found Cherry tidying up the wardrobe. His heart wanted him to

step towards her, to hold her from her back and feel her warmth and sweet scent, but his mind told him

that he should ask her about certain problems first.

He decided that it would be best to sit down on a chair and to talk with his wife about what had

    happened.

Cherry knew that Jackson was near her, because she saw him when he came in, but she was unwilling

to talk to him first. She was still upset because of what had happened in the coffee shop earlier in the

    afternoon.

Jackson calmly asked her, "What happened at home in the afternoon? Why was our Grandpa sent to

the hospital?" He already knew that the event was somehow rted to his son, but he wanted to know

    how everything happened in detail.

Cherry casually replied to him, "You''ve already know what happened, so why are you asking me again

about it?" She didn''t turn her head to look at Jackson, not even for a moment, and instead she

pretended that she was busy cleaning her wardrobe.

When Jackson saw that Cherry pretended to be unaffected by the whole thing, he started to be

angry. He then suddenly stood up from his chair and walked closer to his wife.

He stood next to her, grabbed her arm, and forced her to turn around and face him.

He then asked, "Why didn''t you let me exin myself? Why did you let Joe say those things to

Grandpa? Was it just because I met with Sally? Why didn''t you believe me?"

Cherry stared at him and a helpless smile suddenly curled on the corners of her mouth. She said,

"Believe you? Jackson, what did you tell me this morning just before you left home? And what did you

do instead? You just wanted to meet with Sally. So what, what''s the big deal? You could have just told

me the truth, maybe I would have allowed you to see her, but you chose instead to meet with her

behind my back. How could I possibly believe you?"

Jackson started to exin, "It was just a misunderstanding! It isn''t like you think it is, and actually, I..."

but before he had the chance to finish his words, Cherry interrupted him.

She said, "That''s enough! I don''t want to know what happened between you two!" She didn''t know why

she yelled this out to Jackson; all that she knew was that she couldn''t stay calm anymore and that she

was edgy, and her heart had been so easily broken.

Jackson echoed her words, "Don''t want to know?" He then red at her, and furiously asked, "Then

why don''t you exin to me your rtionship with Mond? Why did you meet with him? What''s going on

    between you and Mond?"

"Jackson, you!" Cherry couldn''t believe her ears, and as she stared at Jackson, she thought to herself,

''Maybe he believes in his heart that I''m that kind of woman who dates other men while in the same time

I still care about him and the whole family. That''s so ridiculous.''

Jackson stared at Cherry and wanted to read her mind. He asked, "What? You have no excuses on

    you, right?"

Cherry lightly replied, "No. I have nothing to do with Mond. We''re just friends."

Cherry remembered that Mond had saved her life in the elevator, and even though she didn''t know him

very well, he was still her lifesaver and her friend. She couldn''t pretend that he was a only stranger to

    her.

Jackson then furiously asked, "Just friends? He has fought Sally for you and stared at you in that

disgusting way. Will a friends behave like that?" He had always known that Mond and Sally''s

rtionship was deep and unusual, but Mond had defied Sally for Cherry. Jackson naturally thought

that this meant that Mond did care about Cherry very much, and he had also noticed that the way Mond

was looking at Cherry was strange. Jackson naturally thought that their rtion wasn''t so simple as

    "just friends."

Cherry took a deep breath of air and decided that she didn''t want to exin anything more to Jackson.

If he didn''t believe her the first time, he would still doubt her no matter what she said.
