    Cherry walked into Andrew''s room then, and found the floor to be full of bits of broken ss. Shocked,


    she walked to Grandpa and Jackson.


    She looked at Andrewying in the bed as she stood next to Jackson and asked, "How do you feel,


    Grandpa?"


    Hearing Cherry''s voice, Andrew turned to her, replying faintly, "Cherry, you came too. I''m okay. You two


    should go to bed and rest."


    Cherry studied Grandpa''s pale face and worried about him, but didn''t say anything. No wonder Jackson


    had ignored her and rushed off to Grandpa''s bedroom.

    "You should have called us, Grandpa! I can get you whatever you need, " Jackson told him.


    Cherry looked at Grandpa adding, "I''ll get you a ss of water, Grandpa!"

    When Cherry was gone, Andrew took Jackson''s hands in his and said, "Jackson, don''t let anyone know


    about my condition!"


    "Grandpa!" Jackson eximed. He hated seeing his Grandfather in so much pain and weak like this,


    and wished he could take his grandfather''s pain in his ce.


    "Listen, please, don''t tell anyone, especially not Joe, " Andrew reiterated.


    Jackson gave his Grandpa a slight nod while looking at him and promised, "Grandpa, don''t worry. I


    know, and I won''t tell anyone."


    "Okay, good, " Andrew had a look of relief on his face.


    Cherry walked back into the room, carrying a ss of water. Jackson scooped the bottle of medicine


    from the floor, opening it to take a couple of pills out. He took the ss from Cherry and turned to his


    Grandpa saying, "Grandpa, here is your medicine."


    "Okay, thank you, " replied Andrew.


    Jackson helped Andrew to sit up in bed and take his medicine. Cherry took the empty ss from


    Grandpa when he was done.


    "I''ll ask Lily to clean up the mess, " said Cherry as she left to get her.


    Jackson helped Grandpa toy back down and getfortable in bed again. Seeing how bad


    Andrew''s condition was, saddened Jackson.


    Lily cleaned the broken ss up while Jackson and Cherry sat by their Grandpa''s bed watching him as


    he fell asleep. The pallor of Andrew''s face was looking much healthier than just now, and he wasn''t


    frowning anymore.


    Cherry whispered in Jackson''s ear, "Jackson, we should leave, Grandpa fell asleep."


    Hearing his Grandpa''s breathing was steadier and even, Jackson nodded to Cherry and they left his


    room.


    Jackson and Cherry went straight to bed when they got back to their room. Jacksony there staring


    silently at the ceiling while he thought.


    Cherry lovingly snuggled into his arms. She knew Jackson was worried about Grandpa; she wanted to


    help, but she didn''t know how tofort him.


    After a long silence, Cherry said, "Jackson, do you think we should take Grandpa to the hospital for a


    check-up tomorrow?"


    "He won''t agree to go, " replied Jackson and added, "That''s how some people are as they get older.


    Honey, I need to know you will take care of Grandpa when I''m not home. Help him out when he needs


    it."


    "Yes, of course, I will, " Cherry promised quickly. Grandpa''s illness tonight scared her too because until


    now, she hadn''t thought it was severe, but now she was worried. She knew Jackson had been


    distraught when he saw how poor his Grandpa''s health was.


    Jackson turned to Cherry, and stroked her hair, "It''ste, let''s get some sleep now, honey."


    Cherry nodded. As she was falling asleep, she suddenly remembered something. She looked up at


    Jackson again and asked, "Joe wants to go to the amusement park tomorrow. Do you think you can


    make time to go?"


    Jackson thought for a while and replied, "I already have ns for tomorrow."


    "That''s okay, I''ll take him there. You should go to your appointment. Please don''t be upset that I didn''t


    consult you before I made ns, " Cherry said gently. Although she knew he wouldn''t mind, she still
