Chapter 3 Need To Find A Rich Man
Whenever John Ye''s name was mentioned, Cherry Shen''s heart would still ache. Despite trying very
hard to forget him, she just couldn''t get over him.
"That is nice. My congrattions to you!" Cherry Shen forced a smile. Her voice was calm and she
looked unperturbed.
"Well." Jean Shen smirked, "For a slut''s daughter, you truly know how to behave."
Jade Qiao rolled her eyes and added, "Exactly. Why can''t you follow your mother''s steps and disappear
for good? Why are you still hanging out with our family and harming us? If you hadn''t seduced John Ye,
my daughter would have married him long time back. She would have already be the wife of the
lieutenant governor."
"Aunt, I am a member of the Shen n as well. My father had forbidden me to leave with my mother
back then. Besides, John Ye and I were close back when we were at the university..." Before she could
finish, Jean Shen pped Cherry Shen hard on the face.
Jean Shen''s hand was still in the air as she snapped at her, "Cherry Shen, bear this in mind. The Shen
n has only one daughter. That would be me, Jean Shen. I am the deputy CEO of the Shen Group.
Who the hell are you? You are nothing but a lowly team leader in the business department. How dare
you evenpare yourself with me? How dare you even try topete with me?"
Cherry Shen''s face was burning with pain. She lowered her head and said nothing.
Jade Qiao''s cold words echoed in her ears, "Cherry Shen, I am already doing you a favour by letting
you stay in the vi. Your slut mother seduced your father and had you. Fortunately I was able to chase
her away, otherwise it would be her sitting in the vi today!"
"Aunt, this is not true. Back then, my mother and father were in love. You were the one who stepped
between them and coerced my father into marrying you, as you were pregnant with his child. You are
the family breaker here." Cherry Shen angrily red at her. She might tolerate insults from Jade Qiao
about herself, but she definitely would not put up with Jade Qiao bad-mouthing her mother.
"You little bitch." Jade Qiao sprang up from her seat and was about to punch Cherry Shen in her face.
However, Harrison Shen blocked her attack in time.
Jade Qiao yelled at Cherry Shen in rage, "Did your mother tell you this bullshit? Cherry Shen, I am
telling you, I am the one who got pregnant first. Your mother was a typical loser. She doesn''t have the
fortune to be ady. My family helped the Shen n a lot back then. It is only natural that I be with your
father now. You should just shut the fuck up!"
Jade Qiao''s words were cut off by an impatient Jean Shen. She pouted, "Mom, dad, you should just
marry her off as soon as possible. Otherwise, she wouldn''t keep her hands to herself or stop bothering
my John Ye! She would ruin my future and stop me from bing the lieutenant governor''s wife."
Jean Shen was really afraid of Cherry Shen. She hated her intensely.
"Exactly. She has really angered me by ruining my daughter''s happiness. I won''t let her stay in the vi
anymore." Jade Qiao cast a scornful nce at Cherry Shen. Then she turned to Harrison Shen and
said: "Set her up with someone tomorrow. You need to find a rich man so that he would give me a lot in
betrothal gifts. I have spent a fortune raising her over the past two decades. My efforts cannot go in
vain."
Harrison Shen''s eyebrows furrowed as he looked at both Cherry Shen and Jade Qiao. However, he
said nothing, just as he had done for years. The family was ruled by Jade Qiao. She had been the boss
ever since they were together.
Cherry Shen bit her bottom lip. Her heart was already broken. Too many things had happened in the
past two days. She was absolutely devastated. Even if they sent her to meet up with some total
stranger, she couldn''t care less. She had already lost the one she cherished. There was nothing more
to lose in her life.
In the military residential area
An aged man, dressed in military uniform, sat in the main seat which was in the living room.
Jackson Chu and Derek Lu remained silent as they stood in front of the old master. They were waiting
for his orders.
Andrew Chu felt proud as he fondly looked at his beloved grandson and the grandson of hisrade.
The two young men had grown up together and were both outstanding during their service in the
military. Especially his beloved grandson. He had drawn the attention of the entire residential area as,
despite his young age, Jackson Chu had made it to the level of a lieutenant. HIs achievement made
Andrew Chu really proud.
However, Andrew Chu was still a bit bothered by one issue.
"Derek Lu." Andrew Chu slowly opened his mouth. His voice was serious and solemn.
"Yes, sir." Derek Lu quickly responded.
"In all the time Jackson Chu has been in the army, did he ever bother to go on the blind dates I set up
for him?" Andrew Chu''s face was serious as he asked the question.
"Well..." Derek Lu didn''t know how to reply. The truth was, he had gone on the blind dates in ce of
Jackson Chu. Jackson Chu had begged him so much, that he eventually caved in and went on the
dates. However, at this moment, he did not dare tell Andrew Chu the truth. He was concerned Jackson
would get angry.
"What''s wrong?" Andrew Chu''s face turned darker.
Jackson Chu had to step in and reply on behalf of Derek Lu, "Grandpa, I did go on the blind dates, as
per your instructions. There were eight blind dates, and I went for three of those. However, none of the
girls I met captured my heart."
Jackson Chu replied with a poker face. He was just bluffing. He hadn''t gone on any of these blind
dates. He only said so to dodge the bullet. Otherwise, Derek Lu would be punished by his grandfather if
the truth came out. And under no circumstances would he ever let his buddy get punished for helping
him out.
"None of them? The girls I selected for you are from the wealthy and powerful families of our city. They
are well-educated nobledies. Are you telling me that you didn''t like any of them?" Andrew Chu was
angry at his grandson by now. He was so picky!

Jackson Chu remained silent.
Derek Lu looked away as he also did not know what to say at the moment. He nced at Jackson Chu
and noticed that he looked calm. That gave him some relief as he saw Jackson Chu had the situation
under control.
Andrew Chu thought for a while and then he solemnly said, "Starting from tomorrow, Jackson Chu
should have blind dates one after another. Until he shows me his wedding certificate, he shall continue
going on blind dates."
This random order did not scare Jackson Chu at all. His was mulling overst night, over the girl he
had run into and spent a wonderful time with. A smile spread across his handsome face as he thought
about her.
Derek Lu tried very hard not to burst intoughter in front of Andrew Chu, who was so serious. Going
on blind dates one after another? What a cruel order! Was Andrew Chu trying to drive his beloved
grandson mad? Jackson Chu was known for his indifferent character. He would be theughing stock
of the whole army if the news of him going on numerous blind dates spread.
Jackson Chu gave Derek Lu a serious look and warned him to behave himself. Derek Lu quickly
covered his mouth and stood up straight. However, he was still dying inside fromughter.
Andrew Chu waved his hands in despair and said to them, "Get out then. Remember what I said and
go for the blind dates. If you dare to disobey my order, I will make sure you pay the price."
Jackson Chu walked out briskly. He had paid absolutely no attention to what his grandfather had just
said. He was still engrossed by the girl fromst night.
As they walked inside the residential area, Jackson Chu abruptly stopped and Derek Lu almost ran into
him.
Derek Lu touched his nose and asked, "What''s wrong?"
Jackson Chu turned around and slowly said, "Find the identity of the woman fromst night at the
hotel."
Without further dy, he strode forward, leaving Derek Lu stunned and rooted in ce.
"Well, that is easier said than done..." Derek Lu looked towards Jackson Chu''s receding figure,
confused, and wondered whether Jackson Chu had already fallen for the woman.
