As they carefully stowed the items, the forest around them seemed to hum with approval. These treasures, each with its own unique attributes, could significantly impact the user''s abilities and survivability in the New World, especially with Noah’s current progress.
They could naturally bolster Noah and Wilhelm''s capabilities, aid them in future battles, or be traded for valuable resources within the game.
Especially for the Silverleaf Herb and Aegis Medallion which were particularly the most valuable out of them, with the latter beat the former significantly.
Silverleaf Thistle Herb was known for its potent healing properties. When brewed into a tea or applied as a poultice, it could double the natural healing rate for a full hour. In the heat of battle or after surviving a brutal boss fight, this effect was a lifesaver. It meant adventurers could recover swiftly, ready to face the phasing fight with minimal downtime.
The herb was particularly sought after by tank-class players who had the unenviable task of drawing the aggression of powerful boss monsters. These tanks often endured massive amounts of damage while protecting their teammates. With Silverleaf, their recovery rate doubled, allowing them to absorb even more punishment and keep the boss''s attention while healers worked to keep them alive.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Its value extended beyond personal use, naturally. The scarcity of Silverleaf herbs meant that they could be traded or sold at pretty high prices in the in-game marketplace. High-level guilds and raid parties were willing to pay handsomely for a good supply of Silverleaf to ensure their success in such encounters.
Meanwhile, the Aegis Medallion had a remarkable ability to bolster the user''s defenses. When worn, it increased overall defenses by a substantial 15%. This effect had a profound impact on an adventurer''s survivability, making it a prized possession for both PvP combat and PvE fields.
The Aegis Medallion was not limited to a specific role or class either. It could be worn by tanks, healers, damage dealers, and support characters alike. This versatility made it a sought-after item for all types of adventurers, especially for being an equip type compared to consuming type.
And being able to provide for overall defense instead of just physical defense, magical defense, or other types of damage would make it far more valuable too.
Truly, items classified as Rare, one of the hidden rarities known in the New World, were indeed scarce and valuable commodities in the New World.
…
As Noah and Wilhelm gathered around the collection of items they had acquired from the treasure chest, excitement washed over them. Some of the items truly gave them surprises.
The Aegis Medallion, radiating an ethereal blue glow, lay at the center of their attention. Its presence alone was awe-inspiring. Wilhelm carefully examined the medallion.
"Remarkable find," Wilhelm commented, his eyes still fixed on the Aegis Medallion.
Noah nodded in agreement, "Absolutely."
The two of them discussed for a little bit and then decided that it was best for Noah to take the Aegis Medallion. After all, he was a close ranged focused combatant, which meant that he would have more risk of getting hit.
With the Aegis Medallion safely tucked away, they turned their attention to the other items scattered before them.
The Silverleaf Thistle, a bundle of silvery leaves, exuded a faint, soothing aroma. Its significance was not lost on the duo. Noah carefully placed it in a pouch, knowing that it could be a lifeline in dire situations.
Beside the aforementioned items, there were also some interesting items too.
There was Cubestone Bracer, a piece of Bronze ranked jewelry that shimmered with a polished elegance. It bore enchantments that boosted elemental resistances, making it a valuable asset for characters who faced elemental threats. Wilhelm decided to equip it temporarily.
As they sorted through the items, Noah and Wilhelm also discovered several valuable gems, including a handful of Moonfire Opals and Sunstone Sapphires. These precious stones were often used to enhance equipment. They agreed to hold onto them each, considering future enhancements for their gear.
The Ironbound Scroll, a seemingly unassuming piece of parchment, was also among the treasures. Wilhelm unrolled it, revealing hidden runes and symbols etched in silver ink. It was a valuable crafting recipe for enchanting equipment with additional elemental damage. Wilhelm, who had some experience in crafting, decided to keep it for future use or such.
The Iron Reliquary, while not as rare as the Aegis Medallion, was still a valuable find. It contained a selection of rare crafting materials that could be used to forge powerful weapons and armor. Wilhelm suggested they store these materials for a future project or sell them at a premium to finance their goals, and Noah complied with it easily.
Finally, the duo came across the Scroll of Augmentation, an item with the power to enhance the attributes of equipment. It was used to improve their gear significantly, albeit only one time consumption. They decided to hold onto it until they acquired equipment worthy of augmentation.
"Alright... I think it''s done for now. I''m amazed, not gonna lie. As expected from a jackpot. This kind of occurrence was rare enough. First day of playing the game with you, and we got a good head start. What luck!" Wilhelm let out a whistle with a shake of his head.
"Yea, what luck..." Noah subconsciously shuddered.
Wilhelm looked at the direction of a city as he rubbed his chin, "I can already sense your kind of gameplay. And you can also see my method. You did a very much great job. We didn''t even need to communicate much, and honestly, it seems you didn''t even need my instructions few moments ago, as if you understood the assignment naturally.
As expected of you, aye…"
Noah shrugged his arms with a small smile, "We did well, I agree."
The forest seemed to become more vibrant and lively for some reason. And that either might be because they had repelled a strong group of players, or because they had gotten some good items for themselves. Their eyes seemed to be shining brightly too.
"Okay, now let''s discuss about the guild again. Do you have any recommendations for the guild that we should enter? You are level 103, after all." Noah asked with a contemplative gesture. As a supposedly old player, he naturally knew the big dogs and such. For Wilhelm, he should also know more about the current strong guilds in the game.
"About that..." Wilhelm took a moment before he continued to explain the best course of action that they should take according to his opinion and estimation.
"I know someone from a guild called Starfall. Do you know that guild?" Wilhelm asked.
