Chapter 19 : Loot

    Chapter 19 : Loot

With the echoes of battle fading, the Wreaking Havoc members slowly began to regain their composure, surveying the aftermath of the skirmish. But their gazes fell upon an empty space where Noah had once stood, his absence a display to his swift departure.

Brows furrowed and expressions marred with wonder, they exchanged puzzled glances. "Where did he go?" one of them muttered, the disbelief in his voice echoing the sentiment of the group.

"He was just here, taking down our members one by one... Did he run away?" another questioned, frustration lacing his tone.

"He couldn''t have just vanished like that, right? He was no match for us, after all!" a third exclaimed, shaking his head in disbelief.

“We should’ve not underestimate him, if we take him on right off the bat, I believe we can take him down easily…!”

The area remained silent, save for the rustling of leaves in the aftermath of the battle. The Wreaking Havoc elites exchanged uncertain looks, with their confidence still shaken by the encounter. What had initially seemed like an opportunity to showcase their dominance had turned into a fumbling experience, as they were forced to acknowledge the unexpected prowess of their mysterious adversary.

As they continued to scan their surroundings for any trace of Noah a bit more, the realization finally settled in, the masked spearman had slipped away as effortlessly as he had arrived.

As the Wreaking Havoc elites puzzled over the sudden disappearance of Noah, a collective gasp and sigh escaped their lips as they understood the extent of his action. Their confused expressions turned to dismay as they glanced around the battlefield, only to find the loot that had once belonged to their fallen comrades had vanished alongside the damn spearman.

"He took our drops too…?" One of them exclaimed.

"It can''t be... How did he manage to grab everything and disappear so quickly?" another muttered, his frustration growing.

    "****..."

A sense of defeat gnawed at them, not just from the battle itself but also from the realization that they had been outwitted by an opponent they had initially underestimated. Noah had managed to not only hold his own against them but had seized the opportunity to capitalize on their fallen allies'' drops before vanishing into who knew where he went to.

Murmurs of exasperation and annoyance rippled through the group as they pondered the swift turn of events. Now their dismay had been replaced by a grudging gnaw for the elusive player who had taken advantage of them. The battle had revealed that there were players who could transcend the conventional limits of levels, specially lower levelled players.

… No, to be more exact, they knew that there would be some individuals who could do that exceeding feat, but they just didn’t expect to meet them here seemingly randomly like this.

    …

Perched atop a hill overlooking the aftermath of the battle, Noah''s lips curled into a satisfied grin. He watched as the members of Wreaking Havoc scrambled to salvage their face and loot from the battlefield, their frustration and confusion clear even from a distance.

The wind tousled his armors as he leaned casually against the boulder behind him, seemingly relishing the moment of his triumph. The encounter had gone pretty much as he expected. Not only had he managed to disrupt the guild war, but he had also snatched away the spoils of their conflict right from under their noses. It was a small victory, but one that brought a feeling of accomplishment.

Noah''s gaze was steady, his eyes still tracing the movements of the Wreaking Havoc members below. He could almost hear their bitter conversations and imagined the looks of vexation on their faces. They had miscalculated him, dismissed him as a mere opportunist looking for easy loot. And that had been their moment of stumbling upon a sharp stone.

With a chuckle, Noah pushed away from the hill and began descending, his spear staff tapping lightly against the ground with every glide so often. As he stepped down from the hill, the distant echoes of the previous people''s voices grew fainter.

"Alright, one objective is down." Straight aka Noah muttered under his breath.

He knew that his actions wouldn''t go unnoticed. The players of Wreaking Havoc would remember him, and his actions might even spark a new layer of rivalry between the guilds.

And he understood the current delicate balance that existed between the two rival guilds, Valiant Wave and Wreaking Havoc.

And that was the point. The balance of such conflicts was what he aimed for.

When he observed the battle between the guild members, Noah recognized that Wreaking Havoc held an advantage over Valiant Wave before. This advantage could potentially tip the scales in their favor, disrupting the equilibrium he hoped to exploit. In order to ensure a more balanced outcome, one where both guilds were forced to reckon with each other on equal terms, he moved to intervene.

His decision to seize the loot dropped by the fallen Wreaking Havoc members wasn''t solely about the desire of loot, it was also about asserting his presence, showing that he could disrupt their plans and strip them of their resources. In doing so, he aimed to foster a sense of uncertainty and chaos within the guilds, ensuring that they would approach their conflict with more caution.

Because with caution, they would be slower. And being slow, he could take advantage of his ability to move around better.

    “Sigh…”

But looking at the current grin on his expression, it was hard to tell whether the bigger reason was that he wanted some smoke….

He used an alternative identity so he could practically do whatever he wanted.

Among the spoils that Noah had acquired from the fallen members of Wreaking Havoc were an assortment of silver coins and various equipment pieces. As he inspected his new treasures, his mind began to decipher the value of each item.

The silver coins, while not exceedingly rare, were a valuable currency in the game. They could be used to purchase items, services, and even enhance equipment. Noah understood that amassing wealth in the Second World could provide him with an array of advantages, from acquiring rare items to securing influential allies.

Among the equipment loot, there were several stone and iron rarity items. While these might not have been the most prestigious rarities, they still held value, especially for players at Noah''s level. Stone and iron rarity equipment could offer useful stat bonuses, enhancing his combat capabilities and overall effectiveness.

    ...

Minor Potions: Bottles filled with healing or mana-restoring elixirs, these minor potions could provide a quick boost in the heat of battle. While not as potent as their higher-tier counterparts, they were still essential for extending one''s survivability in combat.

Basic Enchanting Scrolls: These scrolls contained simple enchantments that could be applied to weapons or armor to grant them additional attributes or effects. While not as powerful as the enchantments found on higher-tier scrolls, they still offered a means of customization.

Light Leather Armor Pieces (Wood rarity) : Components of leather armor, these pieces were of wood-stone rarity, suitable for lower-level players. Crafters and armorers could use these materials to create protective gear for adventurers seeking to bolster their defenses.

    ...

Those are basically the examples of the loot that he got from the Wreaking Havoc.

Noah then also turned in his kill bounties that were put forward in the system by the Valiant Wave guild. A significant amount of silver coins was rewarded as the prize. The reward amounted to around 100 silvers, a very substantial sum for a normal player of his level.

"Little by little toward a mountain of gold after all..." Noah shook his head with a little smile.

Noah''s gaze shifted from the spoils of his recent treasure to the direction of the Valiant Wave members. They were engaged in their own confrontation against the other forces of Wreaking Havoc. Even though Noah had killed some of Wreaking Havoc members, his numbers were not shift tipping after all.

The battlefield was chaotic, with bursts of spells, weapons, and formations, creating a fierce looking scene. One could easily tell that Valiant Wave now had the advantage over Wreaking Havoc.

"Alright, about time for you to get the same treatment now," Noah smirked as he disappeared from his current location.
