Chapter 1: Divine Betrayal and the Wrath of the Demon

Chapter 1: Divine Betrayal and the Wrath of the Demon

    The Beginning of Tribulation

The heavens roared in fury, their wrath manifesting as a tempest of dark clouds that swirled violently above, forming an ominous vortex. Thunder cracked like the beating of a celestial war drum, and bolts of lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the desolate battlefield below. Each strike seemed to carry the weight of divine judgment, as if the heavens themselves had descended to punish Ji Yang for his defiance.

The first bolt struck with unrelenting force, crashing into Ji Yang’s body with a deafening roar. His frame trembled under the impact, yet not a single cry escaped his lips. His golden eyes, fierce and unyielding, remained fixed on the heavens above.

The second bolt followed, and then the third. Each strike tore through his flesh, leaving behind scorched wounds and rivers of blood. By the time the fourth bolt descended—a deep violet streak of divine retribution—the entire God Domain bore witness to an unprecedented event.

This was no ordinary Heavenly Tribulation. This was a punishment designed for one who had dared to defy Heaven itself.

Ji Yang’s body was now drenched in blood, his once-pristine robes reduced to tattered rags. Yet, despite the agony coursing through his veins, his posture remained unyielding. His eyes, filled with unshakable determination, held no fear.

    The Betrayal

As the final tribulation bolt struck, Ji Yang steadied himself, his breath ragged but his spirit unbroken. But before he could take another step, a shadowy figure materialized beside him.

    It was his disciple.

For a brief moment, Ji Yang’s eyes softened, a flicker of warmth breaking through the storm of pain. But then—

    "Schhhkk!"

A blade pierced through his chest, its cold steel glinting with a cruel light.

Ji Yang’s body trembled as he looked down at the sword embedded in his heart. His gaze lifted, meeting the eyes of the one he had once protected, nurtured, and guided.

There was no reverence in those eyes. No love. Only greed.

"Why?" Ji Yang’s voice was calm, almost devoid of emotion, yet it carried the weight of a thousand unspoken questions.

His disciple offered no response, his face a mask of cold indifference. Memories flashed through Ji Yang’s mind—how he had raised this child from nothing, shielded him from enemies, and trained him to become a powerful cultivator. And yet, in the end, the very hands he had strengthened had driven a sword through his heart.

A bitter smile formed on Ji Yang’s lips. "I should have known… Greed is the deepest abyss. Those who fall into it lose sight of truth and lies alike."

A divine brilliance illuminated the sky as eleven radiant figures descended from the heavens. The Supreme Gods of the God Domain stood in a circle around Ji Yang, their divine auras suffocating the battlefield. Each of them radiated an overwhelming power, their presence alone enough to crush the spirits of lesser beings.

One of them, The Supreme God stepped forward, his divine aura radiating an oppressive force that made the air itself feel heavy. His voice was cold, each word dripping with disdain. **"Ji Yang, you are but an ant before the might of Heaven. Hand over the Ancient God’s Treasure, and perhaps we will grant you a swift death."**

Ji Yang chuckled, a low, bitter sound that echoed across the battlefield. **"An ant, you say? Yet here I stand, while your heavens tremble. Tell me, do ants make gods fear?"**

The God ’s eyes narrowed, his patience wearing thin. **"Your defiance is amusing, but futile. The Heaven’s will strip you of everything—your power, your soul, even your memories. You will become nothing."**

Ji Yang’s golden eyes flashed, his voice rising with every word. **"Nothing? I was nothing once. A beggar, a wretch, abandoned by the world. But I rose. I defied. And now, I stand before you—not as a beggar, but as a demon who will tear down your heavens brick by brick."**

Another Supreme God, a woman with eyes like frozen stars, spoke next. Her voice was calm, but laced with venom. **"You speak of defiance, yet you are broken. Your body is shattered, your disciple has betrayed you. What hope do you have left?"**

Ji Yang’s smile widened, a dangerous glint in his eyes. **"Hope? I don’t need hope. I have something far more powerful—rage. And it burns brighter than your divine light."**

The God Leader’s expression darkened, his voice a thunderous command. **"Enough! Activate the formation! Erase him from existence and torment his soul and extract the treasure from it.

Ji Yang let out a low chuckle—a laugh devoid of fear, but brimming with defiance. It was the laughter of a man whom Heaven had already betrayed.

    The Heaven’s Wrath Formation

The Supreme Gods raised their hands in unison, their divine auras intertwining to form a colossal array in the sky. The Heaven’s Wrath Formation  materialized as a intricate web of golden light, each thread pulsating with the power of divine law. The air grew heavy, as if the weight of the heavens themselves was pressing down on Ji Yang. The ground beneath him cracked and splintered, unable to withstand the pressure.

The formation began to spin, faster and faster, until it became a blinding vortex of energy. Chains of light shot out from the array, wrapping around Ji Yang’s body like serpents. Each chain burned with a searing heat, scorching his skin and sizzling as it made contact with his blood. The sound was deafening—a low, resonant hum that vibrated through the air, shaking the very bones of those who stood witness.

Ji Yang’s body was pulled taut, the chains tightening with every passing second. The divine energy seeped into his wounds, attempting to pry open his soul and extract the secrets within. The pain was unimaginable, a torment that transcended the physical and delved into the very essence of his being. Yet, his expression remained stoic, his golden eyes blazing with defiance.

The Supreme Gods watched with cold satisfaction, their voices echoing in unison. "Submit, Ji Yang. Your resistance is futile."

But Ji Yang only smiled, a faint, almost imperceptible curve of his lips. "You think your chains can bind me? You think your heavens can break me?" His voice was low, but it carried a weight that made the gods pause. "You have no idea who I am Haa...  haa...  haa... "

With a roar that shook the battlefield, Ji Yang’s body erupted in a surge of **Yin-Yang Flames**. The chains of light began to crack and splinter, unable to withstand the sheer force of his will. The formation above wavered, its golden threads fraying at the edges. The Supreme Gods exchanged uneasy glances, their confidence faltering for the first time.

But Ji Yang’s expression remained unreadable. Then, he spoke—

"If you want my treasure..." his voice deepened, "...then you must follow me to the gates of death!"

A surge of Yin-Yang Flames erupted around him, their dual energies intertwining in a dance of creation and destruction. One of his eyes glowed white, the other black, embodying the perfect balance of life and annihilation.

A Black and White Heaven-Destroying Lotus began to form in his palm, spinning slowly, growing larger with every passing second. The air around it warped, as if reality itself could not withstand its power.

The Supreme God ’s face darkened. "STOP HIM!" he roared, his voice echoing with urgency.

    But it was too late.

Ji Yang raised the lotus high, his voice resounding across the battlefield like a thunderclap.

    "Destroy the Heavens!"

    The Divine Catastrophe

A blinding explosion followed, its light so intense that it seemed to consume the very fabric of existence.

The Heaven’s Wrath Formation, hailed as unbreakable, shattered into nothingness. The resulting shockwave rippled across the God Domain, shaking even the farthest celestial planes. Mountains crumbled, rivers evaporated, and the skies themselves seemed to fracture under the force of the blast.

The Supreme Gods, the rulers of divine law, were flung back like fallen leaves in a storm. Their divine bodies were torn, their power weakened. Even their treasured artifacts, powerful relics passed down for generations, were reduced to dust.

    The Unknown Fate

As the dust settled, a vast field of ruin stretched as far as the eye could see. The once-majestic battlefield was now a desolate wasteland, scarred by the remnants of divine power.

Among the eleven Supreme Gods, some barely clung to life. They had used their divine treasures to shield themselves, but even those relics had been shattered beyond repair.

    And Ji Yang?

    His presence had vanished.

Had he truly perished, his soul extinguished by the cataclysmic explosion?

Had Heaven crushed yet another rebel who dared to challenge its authority?

Or was this the beginning of a new legend, one that would echo through the ages as a

    tale of defiance and retribution?

The heavens remained silent, their judgment unspoken.
