    Several of the people in the lobby looked like they had seen a ghost as they witnessed Bug, the pedigree paladin, a very nice dog, speak, even if it had been to give them a chance at redemption. Some of them, though, seemed to listen. They reached inside their jackets and pulled their weapons out.
