Introduction: Going away for a work retreat in the Appalachian mountains seemed like a great idea to Pierce, given that being a history teacher can sometimes be a drag. Until this point, he had lived a basic life. Getting through an uneventful life in school, finding his eventual love for history, and doing the main thing those who love history do: teaching. The most exciting thing that had happened to him up until this point was his girlfriend, Grace, cheating on him with his colleague and supposed friend, Dean.
