    Maia looked at Cedric cautiously. She did not want him to try anything on her! She knew that she was no match for him


    physically.


    She red at him and warned, “Cedric, don’t make me hate you even more!”


    “Do you still hate me that much?” he asked. Even though he was smiling, she saw the sadness. that briefly shed across his


    eyes.


    Maia remained silent as she frowned. She noticed that her hate toward him was not as strong as it used to be.


    Just then, Cedric’s phone rang. He checked the caller ID and frowned. He released her wrist, making sure that he had not hurt


    her before picking up the call.


    “Mr. Cedric, a few of the artists from thepany are spreading rumors about Ms. Maia forcing them into sleeping with her! The


    company’s and Ms. Maia’s Twitter ounts are a mess!” Buck’s voice was so loud, even Maia could hear him.


    She quickly tidied herself up and walked toward Cedric, “Let me talk to my staff.”


    “You sure you want to use the cell phone of someone you despise?” Cedric looked at her as he


    teased. He tried to hide the hurt he felt with humor.

    Maia tried to pry the phone out of his hand, but his grip was firm. Finally, she gave in and


    talked to Buck.
