Chapter 115 Do You Think It’s Her?


    Everyone shouted in unison, “Warring couple! Warring couple!”


    Maia kept a nk face and maintained herposure. Then she took a microphone from a


    crew.


    “| get to choose my partner, you troublemakers. Nowhere in the rules does it say a mentor can


    volunteer himself for the role.”


    Maia spoke lovingly, as if the participants were her family.


    She scanned everyone sitting in the mentor area. However, a single stare from Cedric was enough to scare the others away.


    They all wanted to act with her, but none dared.


    Maia saw fear in the mentors‘ eyes and decided she wouldn’t put them in a difficult position. She looked past Cedric and rested


    her gaze on Aiken.


    “It''s a scripted performance. | believe this calls for the Best Actor!”


    Maia grinned widely. She was spectacrly beautiful, and her smile made the audience


    infatuated with her.


    Aiken responded quickly, “Did you have your eyes on me, Ms. Maia?”


    There was a double entendre to what Aiken said. He made it sound like Maia had a crush on


    him.

    “Aiken is so bold! Cedric is right there!”


    “How impressive, Aiken. He’s not scared of Cedric at all!”


    “It looks like Aiken and Maia are quite close. | saw him sending her back to her roomst night!”


    “Geez Louise. Is the warring couple already over?”


    “Maia didn’t pick Cedric. Does this mean he’s the only one who wants to be married again?”


    The livestream was in a state of chaos. Theizens were busymenting that their hearts


    went out to Cedric.


    Maia and Aiken received the script shortly after.


    “This is something...” Aiken raised the script to the camera and showed the content. “Take a look at this. There are only twenty


    lines here, but | get to hug and kiss her twice.


    “Is the director throwing me a bone? Ms. Maia was a specialdy, after all!”

    Aiken was on cloud nine. He was so grateful that he wanted to send the director a gift basket.


    Unfortunately, the director was very unhappy with this unexpected development.


    Cedric looked terrifying. He arranged for the script and made sure there were intimate moments in it. How could Aiken be the


    one to reap the reward?


    Did Cedric unwittingly serve her up on a silver tter? He was incensed at the thought of Maia “cheating” on him with another


    guy.


    Then, the performance started. The plot centered around a girl sending her boyfriend off when they were in an airport.


    Aiken held the Best Actor title, after all. He immersed himself in the role very quickly. However, this was the first time Maia came


    in touch with a script like this. She had trouble getting into the part emotionally.


    The fact that a terrifying man was boring his gaze into her made it that much harder. It was summer, but she felt a chill up her


    spine.


    With that said, Maia and Aiken knew each other pretty well. So, it was not that awkward to act out the scene..


    Aiken carried on with his line after the first hug.


    Cedric’s handsome face had contorted with rage. His fist was clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His eyes were


    hostile.


    “Look at Cedric. He’s scary!” Jackie nudged the mentor sitting next to him with his elbow.


    “|-It’s just a hug... It’s normal in our industry. I-Is he going to start throwing punches when we get to the kissing scene?”


    Jackie shrugged. He could not guess how Cedric would react, but he was sure about one thing. If Aiken were bold enough to


    kiss Maia, he would be crossing the line.


    Everyone’s attention was on Maia and Aiken.

    Some participants were on the verge of tears when Aiken delivered hisst line.


    The kissing scene everyone waited for was next.


    Aiken took several steps toward Maia and embraced her. However, someone lifted him by his shirt before he could kiss her.

    Baz moved swiftly and lifted him to the side. Then he said, “You''re causing a disturbance at

    Maia looked at Cedric and locked eyes with him, hinting at him to stop!


    Cedric, on the other hand, smiled at her calmly and spread his hands. He was feigning


    innocence.


    “Don’t you think your bodyguard took it too far, Cedric?” Aiken nced at him and looked at the muscr Baz next. Was he way


    taller than the average guy?


    “This was a spontaneous scene that the director added in,” Cedric said while holding a microphone.


    Aiken stared at the director helplessly. “Is this true, director?”


    The director nodded immediately and said, “Exactly. This is a spontaneous scene | added in just now. Haha.”


    The director would not dare go against Cedric’s orders.


    Aiken was confused and eximed pitifully, “Why is it always me?”


    Everyone burst outughing again and apuded, including those watching the live stream.


    Cedric’s phone rang at this very moment. It was Rita. He stared at his phone, then hung up.


    His phone rang again shortly. She was not about to give up.


    Cedric walked far away before answering his phone, “What''s up?”


    Rita shouted, “Zera’s gone missing, Cedric! She hasn’t been home for two straight days!


    “She isn’t answering any phone calls or texts. Considering what she’s gone through, I’m worried something''s happened to her.”


    Cedric did not give a rat’s ass about Zera. “You should call the police if she goes missing. Why did you call me?”


    Rita said immediately, “She mentioned that she’d spent some downtime at Stonebrook a few days ago! Someone told me


    yesterday that there was a talent show being made there. Maia’spany produced it, no less!”


    “Do you think she has anything to do with this?”
