Rita''s wrist.
“Listen carefully! Maia must die, Cedric and the corporation should be mine as well!”
“Fine, I''ll remember what you said!” Rita replied and walked out of the room. Zera just smiled at her back approvingly.
Rita closed the door and instructed the housekeepers to clean up Zera’s room. The housekeepers nodded reluctantly and braced
themselves to enter her bedroom.
Judy rushed over with a ss of water and some medication. After she was fired by Cedric, she had returned to Rita’s side.
Judy had served Rita even before she became a Larkin. “Don’t get so worked up. You should take your medicine.”
Rita had been diagnosed with heart problems. The doctor had told her that it was best not to get so emotional.
Rita took the ss with her trembling hands and swallowed her pills.
“Mrs. Rita, you should take care of yourself! As for Ms. Zera, she’s lost her mind. Even the housekeepers were afraid of her.”
“You''re right. She’s lost it. Since she has gone crazy, there isn’t a need to keep her around. There’s no reason to keep a threat

“| can’t let Maia and Cedric get back together! People who are useless to me should just die!” Rita finished threateningly.

Rita had recovered from the initial pain she was in. She said, “Zera was the one who said that if she was not going to have a

Rita stood where she was and looked at the housekeepers leaving and entering Zera’s bedroom.
Instead of being threatened by her daughter, Rita would just choose to dispose of her. That was the best solution.
“I''ve experienced losing my partner. What does it matter if | lose another daughter? First her, then M. No one can stand in my
way!”
Back at Starlight Entertainment, Maia felt a shiver run down her spine. It was a strange thing
to feel in the warm summer weather.
She could not help but frown at the sensation. Maybe it was just the air conditioning in the building.
At that moment, a knock came from the door and her secretary entered with a stack of files. ” Ms. Maia, these are Celia’s files.
The PR team has already contacted her. They’ve made an appointment to see her tomorrow to discuss our joint venture.”
“Okay, thanks.” Maia nodded as she took the files.
“Ms. Maia, did you watch Mr. Cedric’s interview? We received a few calls from the media asking about your rtionship. We’ve
all rejected taking questions to protect your privacy, but it’s starting to be a bit too much to handle.”
Maia’s secretary was exhausted. She had never had to reject so many calls before.
“Interview?” Maia asked in confusion. She was so busy with work that she was not even aware
of it.
Secondster, Maia took out her phone. She noticed that there were numerous notifications alerting her about the interview
Cedric had conducted.
She opened her Twitter application and saw that Cedric’s interview took the number one spot on the trending topics list. She
immediately clicked on the link to see what all the hype was
about.
“Mr. Cedric, what do you have to say about the allegations that you are gay?”
“It was a couple’s squabble. She was just throwing a fit.” Then Cedric said, to the reporter''s surprise, “Well, it’s partially true,”
Before he could ask further questions, Cedric interjected, “I’m not interested in anyone else
but her.”
Cedric smiled dashingly and added, “One more thing. | was never engaged to Zera, if you continue to spread such baseless
rumors, I''ll take the matter to court.”
As Maia watched the video, she had an uncontroble urge to punch him. After this interview, there was no way she could im

M closed the application as she gritted her teeth in anger.
Maia’s secretary was surprised at how agitated she was. Maybe this meant that she had really loved Cedric

Her secretary nodded and reminded M that they were about to have a meeting. Maia nodded, stood up and left for the
conference room.
When she got to the conference room, the others present nodded their heads at Maia in acknowledgement.
“Ms. Maia, our talent show program with Sunny Videos is in thest stage of production. We''ve already decided on a release
date, as well as the directors and crew. However, we''re still missing a key piece, the main MC. Sunny Videos has shortlisted a
number of suitable candidates.”
One of the project managers handed the list to Maia.
After studying the list, Maia concluded, “These candidates could get us the attention we need, but that’s not enough. Being the
MC means they''ll also have to be good at handling emergency situations and hyping up the atmosphere.”
“Do you have someone in mind, Ms. Maia?”
“How about Aiken Cantrell? If | recall correctly, he started out as an idol from a survival reality program just like this one. He’s a
great singer and dancer. He’s also one of the hottest movie stars right now. Isn’t he the best candidate for the main MC?” Maia
suggested.
“Ms. Maia, you''re right. We''ve suggested this to Sunny Videos. However, when we tried to contact his manager, they told us that
he was just too busy. He already has a lot of invitations from other variety shows. He''s also going to be preupied with
shooting his new movie
soon.”
Maia had expected this. Aiken was the ‘it boy‘ of the moment, so it was not surprising that his schedule was full.
