    Amber greeted him and pressed her hands on top of the quilt, then she asked quickly, “Jared, did Alice go to the police stationst night?”


    “Yes.” Jared sat down on the bed with his water ss.


    Amber looked at him, “Then why didn’t you wake me up? Didn’t I ask you to wake me up when Alice came?”


    Jared gave a little cough, “You were so fast asleep, and your sleeping face was so cute, that I didn’t have the heart to wake you up, so I didn’t.”


    “You…” Amber rolled her eyes in anger.


    It never urred to her that this was his reason for not waking her.


    She thought it was because Alice didn’t show up, so he didn’t wake her up at all.
