Chapter 196 Evidence of the Affair
John immediately arranged for someone to follow Luther. He also went to the police station and asked
a contact to show him CCTV footage of the route that Marie had taken to go to Edric''s vi. He found
that while Marie was on the way to the vi, there had been someone sitting at the back of her car. The
person was covered up so well so their face could not be seen clearly.
On the way back, the same person was still in Marie''s car. This time however, Marie had taken a turn
into a small alley, and after she came back out, the person in her car was gone.
Although they could not see the person''s appearance clearly, it was a meaningful discovery. When
Marie had gone to the Myers home, the ckout had not happened yet, which meant that the
surveince cameras in the vi were still working. Perhaps they would be able to uncover something.
John hurried back to get the surveince footage of the vi. He saw that while Marie''s car had entered
the property, the person was still in the backseat. However, when she reached the vi, her passenger
had mysteriously disappeared.
John immediately told Edric about his discovery. After Edric seriously watched the tapes, he sneered
and said, "This person is still in the car."
Seeing that John was confused by his exnation, he continued, "Marie''s car has tinted ss all
around except for her front windshield. That means you can''t see the inside of her car from the sides or
the back of her car. Earlier, when you had seen a passenger in the backseat, you were looking in from
the front. That''s why you were able to see them. However, after entering my house, that person must
have ducked down orid down in the car to stay hidden. That way, the front camera would not be able
to detect them. Our vi''s security guard knows Marie well, so he probably didn''t pay that much
attention to her and had overlooked that there was a person hiding in her car."
"That makes sense," John understood the situation after hearing Edric''s exnation, "That means that
the person had been hiding in the car, and they only came out after the security had left and there were
no surveince cameras around. It seems that this person must have something to do with Mrs. Myer''s
fainting."
Edric nodded, "Before this, I already had my suspicions about Marie being at my house. However, I
didn''t expect such a huge discovery. I guess you never really know a person''s true colors."
"Marie and Mrs. Myer are friends, and there was no conflict between them. Why would she want to hurt
Mrs. Myers?" John felt that the situation was too shocking.
"I''m trying to figure that out too. As long as you keep an eye on Marie, the truth will be revealed," Edric
smirked coldly.
Although she had personally tested Edric, Marie was still worried. She asked Deborah to tell Steven
about Margaret fainting and her injury.
Hearing that Margaret had gotten injured because of Irene, Steven was shocked. He could not believe
that Irene would do such a thing, so he personally went to Edric to rify the matter.
Edric and Steven were not on good terms. Edric told Steven clearly that him and Irene were over. Now
that Irene was pregnant and Eden was sick, Edric temporarily had no ns to investigate further.
However, it was really only temporary. Once the child was born and Eden got better, he would definitely
find a way to obtain custody of the two children. Edric even criticised that with such a vile mother, it
would be detrimental to the children''s growth.
Steven tried to put in some good words for Irene, but Edric stood firm in his position. Seeing him like
this, there was nothing Steven could do. He had no choice but to go home upsettingly.
The child was Irene''s entire world. How could she let Edric take the child away? However, with
Margaret''s current condition, Edric would not let this go so easily.

After he returned home, Steven was in a bad mood. Deborah deliberately asked him what Edric said
and Steven said angrily, "The Myers family is being too unreasonable. Even if Irene had made
Margaret faint, so what? Margaret is such an evil woman, she deserves it."
He had said this because he was really at his wit''s end with Edric. Edric had always been polite when
he met Steven, but now that they had butted heads, his true colours were showing.
Deborah was secretly delighted and quickly told all of this to Marie. Marie finally heaved a sigh of relief.
It seemed like Edric really did think that Irene was the one who injured Margaret this time. Her n was

Marie went to the hospital several times to visit Margaret to see if she could get a chance to end her
life. However, she had no chance to be alone with Margaret at all, for the caretaker that Edric had
hired was always there watching over her.
Hearing that Marie had gone to the hospital to visit her mother several times, Edric sneered. It seemed

mall. After wandering in the shopping mall for a while, Luther had answered a phone call and went to

A few minutester, Luther hade out of the bathroom with a bag in his hand. The people following
him had seen him go in empty-handed. Immediately, they had called John and he rushed over to the

He went to look for the manager of the mall and asked him for the surveince footage. Through the
records, he noticed a man, who was wearing sunsses and holding a bag in his hand, entering the
bathroom right before Luther did.
John looked through all the footage to track down the man in the sunsses. Not long after, he saw the
man get into a car in the parking lot. The number te ended with the numbers ''465''.
After some inquiries, the owner of the car was found to be Cecilia Weil, andy who owned a bunch
of bars. John turned his attention over to her.
Cecilia Weil was not her real name, as she used to be known as Rosa Skinner. She changed her name
because she did not like how her old name sounded. Cecilia had been rebellious since young. At
around the age of 14 or 15, she got pregnant. That man eventually abandoned her, and she had
searched high and low for him, but to no avail. This led to her adopting a terrible lifestyle, and she
became a prostitute.

She had no idea that the youngdy was actually duping her. Rosa was a very fierce and mean
