Chapter 185 An Apology


    The only way that Deborah could think of in order to shut Freya up was to not let Freya go out. She had


    issues dealing with Kinsey, but managing Freya would not be too much of a hassle. She called Logan


    to settle the matter immediately.


    Logan called his men to break Freya''s legs. Edric knew instantly when Freya was admitted into the


    hospital. Although Freya did not have a good character, there was no need to hurt her to the brink of


    death. Naturally, Edric thought that it was Lily and her mother''s doing. It seemed that this mother-

    someone that had been waiting for a chance to take their revenge. If what Freya said was false, then


    Deborah and her daughter could have protected themselves via thew instead of engaging with


    gangsters.


    This meant that Freya must have been telling the truth. Both Deborah and her daughter were not only


    vicious but also ruthless. Margaret finally felt strong hatred towards Lily.


    One did not need a reason to love a person, and the same thing applied for hating a person. Margaret


    was disgusted with Lily and felt guilty towards Irene instead. She recalled how she had treated Irene in


    the past and regretted her actions. Hence, she decided to speak to Irene.


    Irene was taken aback to see Margaret knocking on her door. At first, she did not want to let Margaret


    in. However, upon seeing that she was in a wheelchair and that her leg was still injured, she had no

    Irene failed to figure out why Margaret had decided to apologize out of a sudden. She hesitated for a


    while and concluded that Eden was probably her hidden motive. Her guard was raised and she asked,


    "Mrs. Myers, apart from apologizing, I suppose that you have something else to say."


    "Yes, besides apologizing to you, I do have something else in mind to tell you," It was grueling for


    Margaret to say those words.


    She had forced her son to divorce Irene at first. Back then, she would''ve never thought that she would


    ever need to push for Irene and Edric to remarry. She paused for a moment before saying, "I was


    wrong in the past for breaking you and Edric apart. This time, I came to apologize, and I hope that you


    will get back with Edric."


    Irene was shocked and thought, "How could Margaret push Edric and me to get back together? Did I


    mishear it, or is Margaret babbling nonsense?" She asked, "Mrs. Myers, are you okay?"


    Margaret was not as embarrassed as before after hearing that. She added, "I''m telling the truth. You''re


    pregnant, and the child should have a father. So does Eden. Edric has always kept you dearly in his


    heart, so I wish that the both of you will get back together. Don''t worry, I won''t bother both of you


    anymore. You guys should live your life your way."


    Irene could not understand why Margaret became kind all of a sudden. She replied ufortably,


    "Mrs. Myers, let''s talk this matter step-by-step."


    "We can''t talk it out step-by-step anymore. You''ve been pregnant for several months already, so it''s


    better if you get married to Edric as soon as possible. This would be good for the both you and the


    children."


    "Speaking about the children, I have a question to ask you, Mrs. Myers. Isn''t Lily pregnant with Edric''s


    child too? Why are you not taking into ount her child?" Irene asked. Margaret was taken aback by


    the sudden question, so Irene became wary.


    Margaret flustered and replied with hesitation, "I didn''t know how she was really like before, but I know


    my mistake now… I will never let Lily step foot into the Myers family anymore."


    Listening to what Margaret''s words, Irene still could not guess what Margaret''s actual ns were. "Mrs.


    Myers, I understand your goodwill. Me remarrying with Edric will be up to fate, so rest assured that I will


    bring Eden to meet you guys when the child has recovered. Don''t worry about not being able to meet


    the child."


    Upon hearing Irene''s words, Margaret started to reflect on her actions and thought that she had truly


    been too narrow-minded. She apologized to Irene again, "I know what I didst time was wrong.


    Please forgive me and get back together with Edric. I''m begging you to!"


    Irene felt ufortable with Margaret using the word ''beg'' because at the end of the day, Margaret

    forgive her. "Mrs. Myers, your words are overly serious. I''ve offended you in many ways in the past. I


    apologize for hurting you toost time," Irene said.


    Margaret could sense the politeness in Irene''s tone and knew that her actions in the past had made


    Irene deeply wary of her. It would take more than just a day or two to fully break down Irene''s walls that


    had been built in the past, and Margaret understood her. So, she had a short chat with Irene before


    bidding her farewell.


    Not long after returning home, Edric came back. When he entered the door, he asked her with a


    gloomy face, "Mom, why did you meet Irene? Can''t you calm down? You''d save me a lot of trouble that


    way."


    If her son had questioned her like this in the past, Margaret would have be furious. However,


    today, she was in a good temper and asked her son to sit down, "Why don''t you ask me the reason I


    went to meet her?"


    "Do I still need to guess why you went to meet her? You must have tried to persuade Irene to return the


    children and get her to stay away from me," Edric said in frustration.


    "Did Irene tell you that?"


    "No, I guessed."


    "You''ve guessed wrong. I went to Irene today to beg for her forgiveness," Edric stared at Margaret with


    wide eyes. He could not believe that his mother would say such a thing at all.
