Chapter 81: Is She Really A Designer?
When Estelle finished her words, the others rolled their eyes and hissed at her.
“Sketch? Nowadays, we designers all finish our design drawings using design software. No one will
draw sketches. Does shee from the Middle Ages?”
“She can’t even use designing software. Is she really a designer?”
“Fifteen minutes? Even with software, one can’t finish the design of so many pieces of jewellery in
such a short time. How dare she say that she can do it without software? Is she serious?”
For a moment, the meeting room was full of noises. Some people whispered andughed at Estelle,
and some spoke loudly to show their disdain for her. They all didn’t think much of her.
Only Bob, probably because of the rtionship between Cristofer and Estelle, talked to her politely,
“Miss. Hudson, are you sure you can draw the sketches of the whole set of jewellery within fifteen
minutes?”
“If I’m not sure...”
Bob mistakenly thought Estelle was saying she was not sure, so he asked anxiously, “Then why did
you say you could do it?”
“If I’m not sure about it, I won’t make such a promise. I fight, no fight unprepared. This is my
principle of doing things,” Estelle said. “Please trust me. If I can’t make it in fifteen minutes, I’ll be
embarrassed and be aughing stock while you will suffer no losses. But if I can make it, it will
be a benefit to thepany. Anyway, it won’t take too long.”
Bob nodded slightly and thought what she had said was reasonable.
But he did not have the final say, so he turned to Tim and asked, “Mr. Roberts, what do you think?”
Tim was silent for a while, tapping the table nervously with his fingers. Then he said with a faint
smile, “Miss Hudson, you will pay for your arrogance and ignorance.”
Estelle stood straight and nodded, “Then please give me a chance to ‘pay the price’, Mr. Roberts.”
“You seem to be very confident,” Tim chuckled and said. “All right. I’ll give you a chance. But fifteen
minutes is too long. I will only give you ten minutes. The time that you remember the sizes of the
jewellery is also included. Of course, I know this is a very demanding requirement. But I am the
boss and can make rules as I like. Do you want to take the challenge? “
Estelle nodded and said firmly, “Yes.”
For employees, a difficult boss who knows the business is much better than an ignorant boss who
always gives unreasonable orders.
‘Although Tim is proud and sharp-tongued, he is talented and professional in design. And talented
people have one thing inmon, they cherish and appreciate other talents. Therefore, I must
seize this opportunity.’
“Good,” Tim said. “Bob, tell her the jewellery sizes, and give her a pencil and a sketch pad.”
Bob quickly prepared everything Estelle needed and handed her the pencil and sketch pad. “Miss
Hudson, here you are.”
“Thank you,” Estelle smiled at him.
However, after she got the drawing tools, there was still a problem. The meeting room was full of
people, and there was no empty seat.
Estelle then walked to the wall and pressed the sketch pad against it. “Bob, please tell me the size
data.”
“Okay.”
There was indeed a lot of size data, and it took Estelle two pages to write down all of them.
The set of jewellery contained a lot of gemstones of different sizes. In addition to them, she would
also need to memorize the hook’s diameter, the length of the ne, the size of the brooch, and
so on.
It took Estelle three minutes to memorize all the data. After that, she concentrated on drawing
sketches.
“Pass me the pencilpass, please.”
Bob handed her the pencilpass immediately.
“T-square, please. Thank you.”
Bob then quickly handed the T-square to her.
“Do you have a drawing square?” Estelle asked.
Bob said with an embarrassed look, “Sorry, Miss Hudson. I could only find the pencilpass and
the T-square. No designer in ourpany designs in such a traditional way now, so we don’t have
a drawing square.”
Hearing this, Estelle, who was busy drawing, suddenly stopped.
“Haha. Why did you stop? You can’t do it?”
“Old fogies, show us how you can finish your design without the drawing square.”
Without saying anything, she held the pencil upright before her, closed one eye, and looked at the
sketch pad carefully. Then she opened her eyes and made a mark on the paper. Soon, she drew a
forty-five-degree angle.
Bob’s eyes widened in surprise, and he asked, “Miss Hudson, were you measuring the angle with
your eyes just now? Are you sure the angle is urate?”
“You’ll know when you measure itter,” Estelle said. “Do we have an eraser?”
“Yes, yes,” Bob said and handed her the eraser.
Estelle took it and erased some of the pencil marks, revealing a small nk area.
“What is she drawing?”
“I don’t know. Maybe it’s a grape.”
“Hahaha! Grape? Are you kidding me?”
While the others wereughing at Estelle, Tim gradually sat up and fixed his eyes on the design
drawing with a serious look.
Estelle only had a ck pencil, so logically speaking, she couldn’t colour the jewellery.
However, she managed to make her two-dimensional drawing look like a three-dimensional image
with her only pencil. She coloured the pendant of the ne ck and then used the eraser to
erase the redundant marks. In an instant, the drawing showed fine effects of light and shade. And
from afar, the pendant looked like an obsidian, vivid and lifelike.
After finishing drawing the ne with the mostplicated details, she drew the earrings and
the brooches.
After a while, Tim looked at the time and said, “You have one minute left.”
Hearing this, Estelle hurried to draw the ring. And at thest second, she added pendants to the
earrings.
“Time is up,” Tim said.
“I’ve finished,” Estelle said as she took off her design drawing from the sketch pad and handed it to
Tim. “Mr. Roberts, please have a look.”
Bob was the nearest to Tim. When seeing the design drawing, he was stunned and said, “Oh my
God, Mr. Roberts, this is so amazing.”
Estelle not only finished the design drawing within ten minutes but also modified the inappropriate
parts of the previous design.
“It’s a nice painting. But is it the right size? I don’t think that she can measure the size more
precisely than the designing software.”
“She was just ying to the gallery in this way.”
At this time, Tim said, “The sizes of the jewellery are right, and the margin of error... can’t be
distinguished by naked eyes.”Têxt belongs to N?velDrama.Org.
