Chapter 10: I Won''t Run Away
Before she could finish her words, she vomited blood on the floor again.
Thankfully, the quilt was not stained, or Mrs. Moorsum would have been worried about her.
She wiped the blood off the floor with several tissues and flushed them down the toilet. It was as if
nothing had happened.
Tired of abrupt mood swings, shey on the bed and wrapped herself tightly with the sheet to get
warmer.
Perhaps because of the fever, she felt chilly in a cold sweat, losing all consciousness.
She had a dream.
In this dream, Cristofer held her gently in his arms and apologized to her. He said that it was his
fault to trust Gretchen and me her and that he wanted to start over with her and see their child
abroad.
The dream was too beautiful.
It was so beautiful that… even if she was asleep, she knew it was a dream.
Bang—
A loud noise woke her up from the dream.
Estelle climbed out of bed with difficulty and cried, “Mrs. Moorsum? Mrs. Moorsum?”
No one replied.
Was anything wrong?
She walked up to the window and found that the rain had stopped.
In the garden, there was a shocking pool of blood and a person with twisted limbs in its middle.
“Mrs. Moorsum!”
Estelle’s mind went nk.
How did Mrs. Moorsum… fall from the vi?
Panicked, she rushed downstairs without putting on her shoes.
There appeared another person on thewn.
Gretchen knelt next to Mrs. Moorsum and felt her breath with a finger. Then, she revealed a sly
smile. “You’rete. She’s dead.”
“Gretchen Abrams, it’s you…”
Gretchen slowly stood up and stared at Estelle. “I forgot that this old woman watched you grow up
and must have a preference for you.”
“She couldn’t stop your n. Why did you kill her? She had nothing against you!”
“That’s because she knew too much and saw what she shouldn’t have seen.” Gretchen chuckled. “I
have no choice, do I?”
Estelle shook her head incredulously, “You’re such a lunatic!”
Gretchen did not mind what Estelle said at all and grinned even wider, “I could sacrifice my own
baby, let alone an old gardener.”
Estelle felt a chill over her.
“Cristofer, hurry up! Estelle pushed Mrs. Moorsum down from the roof!”
She watched coldly as Gretchen told lies to Cristofer.
She could tell how furious Cristofer was from his roar on the phone.
After his parents died, it was Mrs. Moorsum who had been taking care of him. No one could rece
her in his heart.
But now, she is dead.
She was pushed down from the roof of his own vi.
“Gretchen Abrams, it’s such a pity that you work in a 4S store. You know, you should be an actress,
and I can assure you that you can win an Oscar.”
Gretchen waved the phone in her hand and raised her brows with a chuckle, “Whatever, as long as
this old woman is dead, there are no more witnesses to that car crash, and I’m still Cristofer’s
beloved woman.”
Soon, Cristofer arrived.
He rushed out as soon as the car stopped with an abrupt turn and was then dumbfounded at the
sight of Mrs. Moorsum’s body.
Gretchen walked over to hold his hand and whispered in a gentle tone, “Cristofer, this is too cruel
for you. Mrs. Moorsum loved you so much that she wouldn’t want you to see this.”
“Es-te-lle Hud-son!”
Like a raging lion, Cristofer grabbed Estelle by the cor and lifted her up with all his might.
“Why? Tell me why!”
She closed her eyes, with her body swaying in mid-air, “Will you believe me if I say I didn’t kill Mrs.
Moorsum?”
“You tell me!”
“If I were you, I wouldn’t believe it, either.” She smiled wryly. “I live alone in the vi and like to watch
the stars on the roof, so only I would push Mrs. Moorsum down, right?”
Cristofer clenched his teeth and red at her with red eyes. “Tell me why, Estelle Hudson! Why did
you kill my parents and Mrs. Moorsum? How I wish I could dig out your heart and see whether it’s
ck!”
“Calm down, Cristofer. Miss Hudson must have done this for some reason.” Gretchen pretended to
stop him anxiously. “Perhaps it was because you didn’t watch the stars with her these two days that
she got angry and… did this impulsively. I told you that Miss Hudson is mentally unstable, and we
should be more tolerant of her.”
Cristofer looked into Estelle’s eyes. “Is that so? Huh? Estelle Hudson, you were revenged on me in
this way just because I didn’t watch the stars with you?”
Estelle wore a bitter smile. A good actress like Gretchen would naturally prepare a reasonable
motive for her scapegoat.
“Believe it or not,” Estelle said, “I didn’t kill Mrs. Moorsum.”
“I have no trust in you.”
“What do you want to do then?”
“I want to kill you!” The sybles were squeezed out from his teeth. “Estelle Hudson, do you think I
don’t dare to kill you?”
Gretchen held his arm hurriedly, “Cristofer, stay calm. I can understand how Miss Hudson feels. She
loved you, she wanted to see you, and she wished to watch the stars with you. But you didn’te,
so she could only threaten you in this way. Let go of her, please.”
“Gretchen, you go first. You’ve just lost your baby and need a good rest. I’ll go home after dealing
with her.”
“No, I’ll stay. I’ll be with you wherever you are.”
“Be a good girl…”
What a gentle, loving tone!
A man always had two faces.
He could switch his face in front of those they loved or resented because he had a partial heart.
“Cristofer, are you really going to kill me?” Estelle asked in desperation.
“I’ve called the police,” Cristofer replied. “Killing you will only smear my hands.”
“The police will soone, I guess.” Estelle tapped his hand. “Let go of me first. I’m hungry.”
Cristofer frowned deeply, with his eyes fixed on hers.
“Don’t worry. I won’t run away ’cause the wontons Mrs. Moorsum made are still boiling in the pot.
The police will arrive when I finish the meal.”This belongs to N?velDrama.Org - ?.
