    The others'' expressions turned sour. James wasn''t aware of what had happenedst night, so he said


    excitedly, "Really? You proposed to Aunt Ninast night? Tell me. Did you bring Aunt Nina to tears?"

    continued, "I told her that you were not afraid of rain."


    When Chester saw the disappointment in John''s eyes, he said, "No, Uncle John is afraid of rain. He


    told Aunt Nina that he is and she has promised to be with him whenever it rains."


    Chester had lived in North Yard for so long by now that he knew John and Nina more than James did.


    James was stunned. "Did I say something wrong?"
