Chapter 810 Good News Arrives
Julien looked at Sydney steadily for a moment without answering the question.
Suddenly, he turned around with his back to Sydney, his voice somewhat muffled. "You said so
much just to hint that I''m old."
A man in his thirties was less physically fit than in his twenties.
And the older one was, the worse his health was.
So she meant that he was old.
Sydney''s mouth twitched. She was speechless.
She didn''t mean that he was old, but he seemed to have decided that she meant that.
Fine, she offended him.
Sydney rubbed her temples, annoyed and amused. "No. Believe me."
Julien ignored her and just had the back of his head to her.
Seeing this, Sydney reached out and gently pushed his shoulder. "Believe me. It''s not true."
Julien still didn''t move.
With a sigh, Sydney moved over, gently hugged his shoulders, and kissed him on the cheek. "Do
you believe me now? If I felt you were old, I wouldn''t want you. How would I still be with you? I am
really worried about your health. You have not rested for so long. How can you stand it? Besides,
only when you are well rested will you have more energy, right?"
Julien''s back straightened slightly. He turned his face faintly sideways to look at Sydney.
Finally, he responded.
Sydney breathed a sigh of relief.
Julien looked at her. "If you kiss me again, I''ll believe you."
Sydney raised an eyebrow and thenughed, "You''re pushing your luck."
Despite what she said, Sydney looked down and kissed Julien''s face again.
Julien finally turned around and wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her in his arms. "That''s
more like it."
Sydney shook her head with a wry smile. "Can we sleep now?"
"Yes." Julien nodded slightly.
She was right. Only when he was well rested would he have more energy.
Then he would sleep well, and tomorrow, he would let her know if he was old or not.
He would let her know that a man in his thirties was stronger than a man in his twenties!
Julien''s eyes flickered as he closed his eyes with Sydney in his arms.
Sydney was not sure what was on his mind. She was slightly relieved to see the man obediently
close his eyes. She rxed and also closed her eyes.
Finally, the farce ended, and they could sleep.
If Julien were more difficult, she would have to try harder to coax him.
Then they might have to waste a lot of time before going to sleep.
Now it was good. The apartment became quiet.
Sydney''s mouth was slightly curved. She gently squirmed in Julien''s arms, looking for afortable
position before falling asleep.
The next day, when she woke up, the other side of the bed was empty again, and she was alone in
the bed again.
When she touched the ce where Julien had been lying, it was still warm, so she thought he must
have just woken up.
She didn''t know if he was gone or not.
Sydney took the phone from the bedside table and looked at it. It was 7:30, and it was already
bright outside.
She put the phone down, yawned, and sat up from the bed. She stretched, raised the covers, got
out of bed, opened the door, and walked outside.
The living room was quiet and empty, and when she looked at the entrance, Julien''s slippers were
already neatly ced on the carpet at the door. Apparently, he had already left the apartment.
Sydney''s eyes shed with disappointment, since she did not see him when she woke up.
But the disappointment didn''tst long before she hummed and went to wash up.
Last night, he had said that he would be busy for the next few days and might leave early and return
late, so she was mentally prepared this morning and quickly adjusted her mind to ept reality.
"Hello?" Sydney had just gotten out of the bathroom after freshening up when she received a call
from the police department.
Today was the day of Madeline''s trial, so naturally, the police department once again told Sydney to
go to the trial on time.
C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org.
After hearing the notice from the police department, Sydney nodded slightly. "Okay, thanks for the
reminder. I''ll be there on time."
She put down her phone and let out a long breath before walking to the table and pouring a ss of
water to drink.
After taking a sip, Sydney rubbed her brow, her red lips pursed.
In fact, she really wanted to tell the police directly that Madeline had poisoned her father.
But Sydney did not have evidence, and this matter involved many people, including the Madden
family and Kaylie.
Last night, Sydney deliberately told Brandon that she knew that he had asked Madeline and Kaylie
to poison her father. Sydney did that just to see Brandon''s reaction.
Brandon panicked at first, but soon, he calmed down.
His calmness made Sydney''s heart sink.
She wanted to test Brandon. If Brandon kept flustered, it would mean that the evidence that
Brandon let Madeline and Kaylie poison Harry was easy to find because Brandon did not clean it
up.
But on the contrary, Brandon quickly regainedposure and was no longer nervous about the fact
that Sydney knew the truth, which meant Brandon had erased the evidence to the point that he was
confident that the police couldn''t find anything.
So Sydney naturally held back from directly telling the police that these people had poisoned Harry.
After all, it was useless to do so.
Without evidence, Madeline''s charges would not increase, and Brandon would be safe. At worst, he
would be taken away for a short time by the police for questioning. That was pointless.
Sydney could only wait until she found some strong evidence and then sued them.
As she was thinking, Sydney''s phone, which she had just put down, suddenly rang again.
Sydney stopped pondering and took the phone. It was Hunter calling.
It had been a while since she hadst met Hunter.
It seemed that after she got back together with Julien, Sydney and Hunter had not contacted each
other.
She didn''t know why he was calling at this time.
Sydney pulled up her chair and sat down, answering the phone, "Hello?"
"Sydney, I have a piece of news for you." On the other end of the phone, Hunter was sitting in his
car, crossing his legs, holding his phone in one hand and a document in the other, and tapping his
knee with the document leisurely.
Sydney became interested. She smiled and asked, "Oh? What''s the good news?"
"Some time ago, you asked me to collect some genes of highly intelligent people. I sent my people
to several foreign gene banks. Now I have sorted out what you want. Do you think it is good news?"
Hunter said with a smile as he looked at the document on hisp.
Sydney sat upright with surprise all over her face. "Yes, of course."
She wanted Madeline to leave a descendant to the Raines family to inherit Skylight Corporation in
the future.
Madeline was stupid and vicious, so Sydney did not want Madeline''s child to inherit Madeline''s bad
character and stupid brain. Sydney could only put her hope in the genes of the child''s father. Since
the child would inherit its father''s genes, the father naturally had to be excellent. His appearance,
personality, and IQ must be the top.
