Chapter 746 Liquid Courage

    Chapter 746 Liquid Courage

Sydney''s movements had been bold and exaggerated. However, Julian burst outughing when he

saw her painful expression. "Slow down. Don''t choke."

"I''m not going to choke!" Sydney ced the wine ss down before pushing it closer to him. "Pour

    me another ss of wine."

"Doesn''t your heart ache over the price of the drink now?" Julien raised an eyebrow.

She red at him and urged, "Of course! My heart still aches, but I''d rather finish it than let it turn

bad. Hurry up! Pour me another ss."

Julien chuckled. "Okay. I''ll pour you another ss."

Then, he held the wine bottle up to refill her ss.

Sydney let out a sigh as she held the wine ss up and nced at the sparkling red liquid inside.

"It''s all your fault. Why did you decide to prepare a meal out of nowhere?"

"What? "Julien was confused. "Did you say it''s my fault?"

He wondered, ''How can it be my fault?''

"It''s obviously your fault!" Sydney stomped her foot on the ground. "I wouldn''t have thought of

celebrating it if you hadn''t cooked for me. I wouldn''t have recalled that I had a bottle of red wine if I

hadn''t thought of celebrating it. You wouldn''t have gotten the chance to open this bottle if I hadn''t

thought of it. So, whose fault do you think it is?"

Julien was shocked and speechless upon hearing her exnation.

Julien thought, ''She is so two-faced! I can''t believe she''s putting all of the me on me. She''s

expecting me to deal with all the consequences on my own! Sure, I made the meal. And I

suggested the idea, but I wasn''t the one who suggested having a celebration. And I even tried to

stop her when she brought it up. She''s the one who insisted on bringing a bottle of wine here. Yet, it

sounds like everything''s my fault now.''

Julien pressed his palm against his forehead while feeling sorry for himself.

Sydney seemed even more displeased when she saw Julien pressing his lips together with a

contemtive look on his face. She smacked her palm against the table. "What is it? Are you

unhappy now? Don''t you think it''s your fault?"

The corners of Julien''s mouth twitched. He thought, ''So, she''s forcing me to admit it''s my fault,

    huh?''

"Fine, fine. It''s my fault. It''s all my fault!" Julien had no choice but to shoulder the burden of being

wrong. He patted Julien''s shoulder to calm her down.

He thought, ''Forget it. Since she''s my woman, I''m okay with taking all of the me. I''ll just have to

coax herter. A man like me shouldn''t get too petty about such matters, anyway.''

Thinking of that, Julien took a sip of red wine. "You''re lucky you''re with me. I don''t think anyone else

    would pamper you like this."

He swirled the wine in his ss and looked at the red liquid before letting out a softugh.

This was the first time he was being med for something he hadn''t done.

And he willingly epted the me. He was certain that no one would believe it if they found out

    about this.

Sydney knew what Julien meant by his words, and she knew how unreasonable she was being.

She thought, ''But why does that matter? He''s my man, right? What''s wrong with taking the me

    for me sometimes?''

Thinking of this, Sydney grunted at Julien. "At least you know what''s the right thing to do."

Julien couldn''t resist pinching her face. "Why didn''t I know that you had this side to you in the past?

    "

She flicked his hand away. "There are so many things you haven''t discovered about me. You don''t

even know how many sides of me there are."

"Oh?" He smirked. "Guess I''ll have to continue digging deep into you, then."

"You can go ahead and do that. I''d like to see how much you can find about me." Sydney raised her

ss and finished her wine once more.

Then she ced it in front of Julien to indicate that she wanted another ss.

He frowned without making a move. He said, "You should stop drinking."

"No. I can''t waste this." Sydney shook her head as she insisted on having another ss.

Julien ced hisrge palm over her ss as he spoke. "You''ll get drunk. This red wine''s alcohol

percentage is a little higher than the usual red wine. On top of that, you can''t drink very much. And

you''ll get drunk after a few sses. Just listen to me, and stop drinking! We can drink another day. "

"No." Sydney felt displeased when Julien stopped her from drinking, so she raised her sharp

eyebrow before speaking in a coquettish tone. "I insist on drinking this! The wine tastes good. I''m

    not done drinking!"

"I don''t care." Julien continued to reject her while he began keeping the wine bottle away.

Seeing this, Sydney immediately pressed her palms against the table to stand up. "Don''t you dare,

Julien! Don''t put it away, okay? Otherwise... I''ll..."

"Otherwise, what?" Julien stopped and turned to look at her. There was a gleam in his eyes that

made his gaze seem to be rather hard to read.

Sydney blinked. She was in a daze. Then she said, "Otherwise... I''ll cry in front of you!"

She said as she stuck her lower lip out and forced herself to wail.

However, regardless of how much she tried to cry, she simply couldn''t squeeze the tears out of her

    eyes.

Julien was stunned by her actions.

He had already been shocked when she smacked her palm against the table before that.

After all, Julien knew that Sydney wasn''t someone who would smack her palm against the table just

because she was upset that she didn''t get to drink.

However, that was exactly what she had just done.

That was the reason Julien suspected that she was starting to get drunk.

Perhaps she was throwing tantrums because she was drunk.

Now that Julien saw her attempting to cry, he realized that she was drunk for sure.

But Sydney wasn''t entirely wasted. She simply seemed rather tipsy. The slight tipsiness had turned

her gentle and smart character into a more aggressive person who seemed livelier than usual.

When Julien saw the confusion in Sydney''s eyes and the redness in her cheeks, he felt the urge to

tease her more. "Didn''t you say that you wanted to cry in front of me? Why aren''t you crying yet?"

"I can''t do it…" She pouted while looking sorry for herself.

His chest vibrated as he chuckled. He was so amused by her words.

"I''ll put away the wine since you can''t cry." He began to act as if he was about to leave.

She immediately hugged his waist. "No! I told you I wanted more of it. You can''t take it away."

    "But you''re drunk."

    "I''m not."

"You are!" Julien stared at Sydney in his arms as he repeated himself in a patient tone.

Sydney frowned and kept quiet for a while. It seemed as if she were making sense of his words and

checking if she was actually drunk.

After a while, Sydney looked up at the man with her gaze more confused than before. "Isn''t that

perfect? You''re in luck. You can do whatever you want now."

Julien squinted. And his face darkened once he heard her.

He stared at Sydney. His Adam''s apple rolled a little. Then he said in a raspy voice, "Sydney, do you

    know what you were saying?"

Sydney giggled. "I know. I know you''ve always wanted my body. And it has been hard for you to

control yourself all along. It was all because I couldn''t let myself do it. You must have struggled to

hold it in for so long. In the meeting room, I sensed some changes in your lower body. And I wanted

to find an opportunity to hand myself over to youpletely, but I didn''t know how to do it, so I

thought that drinking some wine would help us a little. In that way, I''ll be bolder then. I won''t be

hesitant about whether I should go further with you."

When Julien heard her words, Julien''s eyes widened, and his Adam''s apple bobbed up and down

quickly. His voice sounded hoarse. "So... The celebration was a lie, and you were just using it as an

excuse to have some drinks? You wanted to get yourself drunk so that you could let me have you,

    huh?"

"Pretty much the same." Sydney rested her head against Julien''s chest as she listened to his

pounding heartbeat. She breathed heavily as she said, "But the celebration

wasn''t a lie. I''m killing two birds with one stone!"
