For Danny, the conflict is at least simple. Uncle Nyar specifically warned him to not get involved with magic, without clearly stating his reasons for his distrust. The two of them are already getting in deep, and it will only get worse the longer they stay in Fronas.There is another problem leaving Fronas for the airport though. Taylor doesn't want to leave. She clings onto magic as strongly as Jane, and pays no mind to her situation back home, causing Danny to investigate the reasons why. Taylor put off the appearance that she was enjoying magic so much, she would chose it over her own family, the childish nature of casting cool spell effects. But in Sprawn Valley, nothing is ever as it seems; neither are Taylor's intentions.There are still secrets the agents aren't telling the newcomers. Maybe, the reason the external nations across the world despise Leray magic because it isn't safe to use after all. In their studies, Danny and Taylor learn about a forbidden format of energy known as Dark Magic, which is said to specifically have lethal attributes. Jane assures them that this dark magic is not so easily accessible, and that any mages who ever try it will be hunted down by the elite Leray Agency.Based on concerning recent activities to the criminal underworld, believing that everything is okay is getting much harder. Given Jane's new injury caused by unidentified and scary magic, it becomes clear that magic is not as safe as the others led them to believe.
