    Surprised, he asked, ‘Did you learn how to make soup?’


    ‘You’re suprised? This is my first attempt so it’s only going to get better from now on.’ Turning to look at


    me, she said, ‘Lilian, would you like a bowl too?’


    ‘No, she doesn’t like soup,’ interrupted Eric.


    Smiling at me, she said, ‘Okay. So, you must eat more of the food that Sharon made. She has


    prepared many delicious dishes tonight.


    As we chatted, Sharon was busy serving the dishes and making a tasty spread. Beverly voluntarily


    started to put food on my te, but was stopped by Eric. ‘She doesn’t like it.’


    Though she didn’t say anything in response, the surprised look on her face was beyond words.


    Maybe it was because I was going home that my appetite was especially good, so I ate a lot. After


    dinner, Beverly suggested going shopping, but I rejected the idea because I feltzy.


    With a disappointed look, she nced at Eric, expecting him to go with her, but he didn’t agree either.


    As the two of us weren’t going, she decided not to go either and went back to her room.


    I wanted to go back to my room too, but Eric said I’d get fat if I sat still after a meal, so he dragged me


    for a walk in the garden.


    Coming home after walking through the garden, I was about to go back to my room when he pulled me


    into his room suddenly and said, ‘Lilian, stay in my room tonight.’


    ‘I did not answer. When I walked into his room, the image of him and Beverly kissing would pop into my
