    I felt weird that Mom sighed, but I quickly went to my room and closed the door. After I finished


    washing, I tried to sleep, but I couldn’t. I was worried that the news about my going to the bazaar with


    Eric would get out and I thought I was being reckless. Holding hands with him in public? I’m


    stupid? Haunted by my thoughts, I didn’t fall asleep until a few hourster.


    When I went to breakfast the next morning, Dad still hadn’t left for work. When he saw me, they asked


    me to sit down. “Have Carson over for dinner tonight, Lily.”
