Sometimes, Kai has what I’ve called Non-verbal Days.
She will be unable to respond, and resolve to not talk instead.
She’ll just sit there with a blank expression on her face.
I used to think Kai was ignoring me because she was mad at me, and I’d sit away from her and ignore her too. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.
But now, I know that sometimes, she just can’t.
Now, I know I should not leave her alone.
Because I know Kai can hear me, even if she doesn’t show it. I know she can see me even if she doesn’t glance at me, and I know she’s glad to see me, even if she doesn’t say it.
Even if we can’t talk like usual, I can sit next to her and quietly be right by her.
Because I know that this isn’t all of Kai.
Because in a day or two, Kai will be back to her usual self: talking about random fun-facts, making dumb jokes, talking about things she loves, and using too much sarcasm.
So I’m fine just sitting next to her quietly and waiting for her.
