It was as if time stood still. Violet was stunned in ce and forgot to close her mouth. Her brain was
buzzing but running at high speed.
She thought, "Why? God, why don''t you bless me? Don''t you feel guilty?"

Looking at her embarrassed face, Ethan put on a faint smile, saying "Going to buy ice cream?"

Violet walked forward with an embarrassed smile on her face. When she saw Faye and Colin, she put
on a bitter smile,ughing, "Faye, Mr. Farrell, good to see you."
Colin smiled, and Faye replied, "It has been a long time."
Violet asked, "Do you want ice cream?"
Faye smiled. "Okay."
Violetughed dryly and walked straight into the convenience store nearby.
After Violet left, the three people couldn''t helpughing.
Colin turned to look at Ethan with a smile. "I didn''t expect Ms. Rowan to have such a cute side."
Ethan lowered his eyes and smiled, "It''s really...it''s a surprise."
Colin asked, "Don''t you follow her in?"
Ethan said, "She needs time to take this." He raised his eyes, and his eyes fell on Violet, who was
bending over the freezer, selecting ice cream.
He thought, "To be honest, I like the way she is now."
Violet leaned over the freezer, selecting ice creams for seven people.
Finally, the owner of the store couldn''t take it and asked Violet across the cashier, "Violet, is it hot
outside?"
Violet buried her head in the freezer and answered absentmindedly, "Well, it''s very hot."
The store owner said, "So are you trying to get into my freezer to cool yourself?"
Violet raised her head. "Wesson, how can you think that of me?"
The store ownerughed and asked, "Who is that tall and handsome boy outside?"
On hearing that, Violet flushed to ears and said, "Where is the handsome and tall boy?"
The store owner was an old neighbor and had known Violet when she was a child.
He teased Violet with a smile, "He''s at the door. The man who is looking inside. He can''t be looking at
me. Is he your future boyfriend or a suitor?"
Violet pursed her lips with a red face. She grabbed a few ice creams and walked to the cashier.
When the store owner was scanning the ice creams, Violet stood up straight and nced out of the
corner of her eye, wanting to see Ethan''s expression.
The store owner put the ice creams in a bag, handed it to Violet, and smiled. "The boy is very
handsome."
Violet paid the bill and said, "I don''t know him well."
Afraid the store owner would ask more questions, Violet picked up the bag and made for the door.
When Violet came out of the store, Ethan and Colin had disappeared, and only Faye was standing at
the door.
Violet was surprised and then handed an ice cream to Faye.
Faye took it and said with a smile, "They went to the car to get some things."
Violet hesitated for a few seconds, and asked, "Why did youe here?"
Faye said, "Why don''t you give ice creams to the olddies first? I''ll tell you about itter."
Violet nodded and walked to the three olddies.
Although the three olddies were old in body but young in heart, they had seen Ethan had been
talking to Violet just now.
