Twenty minutester, the car came to a halt in front of an elegant
Chinese-style vi, exuding an air of tranquility. This was the residence of Bo Desong, a sprawling estate spanning over ten thousand square meters. The vi’s milky-white walls blended seamlessly with the ck Wave Watts, emitting a timeless fragrance. borate wooden railings, doors, and windows exuded an air of ssical charm. The roof boasted a distinctive cornice shape, and its symmetrical design conveyed a sense of stability. The vi exuded a ssical aura, yet it retained the enchanting essence of Jiangnan, earning it the name “Spring Garden” due to its apparent proximity to a crystal-clear spring.
“Yuanyuan, we’ve arrived home!” Bo Desong greeted her with enthusiasm. “Step into the courtyard, and I’ll have some delightful tea prepared for you. Is there a particr snack you fancy? 1 can have them whipped up for you.”
“No need, Grandpa,” Fang Yuan replied with a faint smile. “I still have some work to attend to this afternoon, so I won’t impose on you.”
Bo Desong’s excitement waned. “You’re leaving so soon?”
“Butler Wen chimed in, “Young Madam, you’re already at home. Why not skip the office today? Rx for a while, have some tea, and enjoy a light meal before heading out.”
Fang Yuan gently exined, “I have some pressing matters to address at thepany. Perhaps next time.”
“What time will you be done with work? I’ll have Yi pick you up…” Bo Desong, reluctant to see her go, still didn’t want to hinder her professionalmitments. “Join me for dinner tonight and have a chat with me?”
“Old Mr. Wen is still in the process of recovery. He could use Young Madam’s expertise…” Butler Wen subtly hinted at him.
Bo Desong instantly caught on and assumed a role in a heartbeat. “Oh, my heart… Yuanyuan, doe over tonight and give me a thorough check-up. I’m feeling ufortable in this position. Cough, cough…”
Fang Yuan observed the old man’s theatrical performance without exposing him. Instead, she smiled and agreed, “Alright.”
“Fantastic! What would you like to eat? I’ll have the kitchen prepare it!” Bo Desong, realizing he had be overly enthusiastic, cleared his throat and pretended to be frail. “Ahem, any dietary restrictions I should be aware of?” “I’m good with anything,” Fang Yuan replied, her lips forming a subtle smile. “You don’t have to go to too much trouble.”
“Alright!” Bo Desong’s delight was akin to that of a child. “I’ll have the driver take you to thepany. After work, you cane with Yi.”
Fang Yuan nodded in agreement. “Okay.”
Once Fang Yuan had left, Bo Desong’s spirits returned, and he asked Butler Wen with a grin, “How was my performance just now? Did it seem convincing?”
Butler Wen gestured with his thumb and index finger held closely. “A tad exaggerated, perhaps…”
“Is that so?” Bo Desong nced in the direction of the departing car. “1’11 tone it down next time, then…”
Upon returning to the house, he grabbed his phone and dialed Bo Yi’s number, adopting a stern tone.
“I don’t care how pressing thepany’s matters are. You must pick up Yuanyuan from work tonight and join us for dinner at my ce!”
“Understood,” Bo Yi agreed without hesitation.
Bo Desong raised an eyebrow, puzzled by his grandson’s readypliance. Did he mishear? No, he couldn’t have! This grandson needed to be reminded of his ce again!
“I’m warning you! Yuanyuan is the cherished granddaughter-inw in my eyes. Don’t y any tricks!”
“She finishes work at five,” Bo Yi informed him over the phone. “We’ll be at your ce by six.” In other words, they needed to have dinner ready by six.
Bo Desong blinked in disbelief. Did he hear correctly? Did Bo Yi just say that?
“As for dessert…” Bo Yi seemed to possess an intimate knowledge of Fang Yuan’s preferences. “She’s not fond of chocte-vored treats. Prepare more strawberry-vored ones.”
Bo Desong.”???.”
After ending the call, Bo Desong still couldn’t quite grasp his grandson’s motives. He felt like he couldn’t quite decipher Bo Yi’s intentions.
Believing that Old Mr. Wen had encountered an obstacle in facilitating progress between Young Master and Young Madam, Butler Wen took the initiative to lend a hand. “Old Mr. Wen, it appears that Young Master and Young Madam’s rtionship is progressing rather slowly. What if we assist them tonight?”
Bo Desong’s eyes sparkled with interest. “What brilliant idea do you have in mind?”
Butler Wen leaned in closer to Old Master Bo’s ear and whispered, “Here’s the n…” Witnessing Old Master Bo’s delighted expression, he, too, couldn’t help but smile. “1’11 arrange for a room in advance.”
Meanwhile, on the other end of the story,
Fang Yuan rode the elevator to thepany’s 20th floor. From a distance, she spotted her assistant, Wang Ning, waiting by the office entrance.
“President Fang!” Wang Ning greeted her eagerly. “You’ve finally arrived. President Zhao would like to meet with you.” Fang Yuan raised an eyebrow, clearly unfamiliar with this individual.
Wang Ning hastened to provide an exnation, “He was appointed by headquarters. A year ago, he was thepany’s top executive. Before your arrival, he held the most influential position in thepany.”
Fang Yuan inquired, “Why didn’t I see him during the meeting?”
Wang Ning hesitated before responding, “Well… He doesn’t often visit thepany..”
