When Cheng Yuqi hastily returned, she coincidentally overheard Qian Dawei’s conversation and learned that Bo Yi had ordered those items for Fang Yuan. It was as if a lightning bolt had struck her, rendering her immobile in disbelief. She stood there, fixated on the unfolding scene, struggling toprehend the reality before her. How could this be? Why was this happening? Bo Yi not only introduced her to Grandpa Bo, but he also shared a meal with her. After dinner, he even personally drove her home – an honor he had never bestowed upon any other woman. And now, he had gone so far as to select clothes and a bag for Fang Yuan. Most bewildering of all, he held Fang Yuan’s hand as he escorted her into the house!
“Auntie Wang, what on earth should we do?” Cheng Yuqi’s anxiety was palpable. Fang Yuan’sposed demeanor failed to reflect any apparent setback from her encounter with Grandpa Bo.
“Let’s step inside and gather more information,” Auntie Wang responded, sensing the ominous undertones of the situation yet refraining from hasty conclusions.
Inside the living room.
Bo Yi engaged in conversation with Cheng Ye and Qiao Xinhui, asionally turning his attention to Fang Yuan, sparking spection among the onlookers.
Cheng Yuqi was consumed by envy, while Bo Yi seemed keen on being considerate of Fang Yuan’s emotions, much to Cheng Yuqi’s chagrin. Her nails were practically embedded in her palms.
In an unexpected turn, Qiao Xinhui interjected, “Yuanyuan, that ne you’re wearing…”
The entire room’s focus shifted to Fang Yuan’s neck, where half of a crown pendant was visible. The revtion left everyone present in a state of astonishment. Apart from Cheng Yuqi, the rest disyed evident tion. Qiao Xinhui, taken aback, inquired, “Did Grandpa Bo give you this?”
“Yes,” Fang Yuan responded, opting not to borate.
Bo Yi chimed in, “Grandpa is genuinely pleased with Yuanyuan. She’ll be apanying him home from the hospital in a few days.”
Cheng Ye and Qiao Xinhui were jubnt. The extent of Old Master Bo’s satisfaction with their daughter was far beyond their expectations.
“Absolutely, inform Yuanyuan when the old gentleman is due for discharge. You both can fetch him together,” Cheng Ye affirmed.
Cheng Yuqi was on the brink of losing her sanity due to overpowering jealousy. She couldn’t fathom why Grandpa Bo had readily bestowed the crown ne upon Fang Yuan! She had tirelessly attempted to ingratiate herself with Grandpa Bo in every conceivable manner in the past, yet even she hadn’t managed to convince him to part with the ne. Fang Yuan had only spent a few hours there today, and she had seemingly captured Grandpa Bo’s affection effortlessly?
After engaging in further conversation, Bo Yi rose to bid his farewell. He affectionately patted Fang Yuan’s head. “Get some rest and avoid staying upte,” he said, as if instructing a child.
Cheng Ye and Qiao Xinhui had never witnessed such tenderness from Bo Yi, leaving them joyous. The rapid and seamless progress of the two youngsters exceeded their expectations.
Despite Fang Yuan’s general aversion to physical contact, Bo Yi had managed to create repeated exceptions today.
“Goodbye.” Bo Yi locked eyes with her and uttered lovingly, “I’ll give you a call once we’re home.”
Cheng Yuqi hadn’t anticipated that they had already exchanged phone numbers. Her frustration was mounting again!
“Yes.” After Fang Yuan and the rest departed, they each retired to their respective rooms for a bath.
Cheng Yuqi, too, returned to her room. The moment she crossed the threshold, her body went limp. Were it not for Auntie Wang’s supporting presence, she might have crumpled to the floor.
“Auntie Wang, what am 1 supposed to do?” She had never experienced such a profound sense of defeat before.
“Miss Yuqi…” Auntie Wang struggled to find words of sce. The unfolding events had far outpaced their expectations.
Cheng Yuqi’s voice trembled as she asked, “Auntie Wang, Yi is utterly devoted to her. What can 1 possibly do? How can 1 make Yi notice me?”
A cunning glint glimmered in Auntie Wang’s eyes. “Lady Yuqi, don’t despair. Hercency won’tst for long!”
During the journey back home, Bo Yi casually inquired of Mu Qing, “Have you located Hua He?”
“Not at the moment.” Mu Qing nced at the rear-view mirror, fully aware of Master Bo’s thoughts. “While the public believes that the Holy Doctor Hua He has already passed away, an insider ims that Hua He is alive and in seclusion. His whereabouts, however, remain shrouded in secrecy. He tends to vanish whenever there’s news about him.”
Bo Yi acknowledged the reality; finding her couldn’t possibly be that straightforward, or she wouldn’t be Hua He.
“Master Bo, should Miss Fang Yuan give it a try?” Mu Qing’s gaze met Bo Yi’s through the rear-view mirror, as if attempting to decipher his intentions. “Miss Fang Yuan possesses remarkable medical skills. She sessfully treated the elderly sir twice.”
“The condition of Grandma is exceedinglyplex.” Bo Yi hesitated to burden the youngdy with more challenges. He didn’t wish for her to feel responsible if she couldn’t effect a cure; that wasn’t his desired oue.
“Shall I continue investigating?”
Mu Qing awaited Bo Yi’s directive.
Having just finished her shower, Fang Yuan noticed a message on her phone.
