Chapter 1609: You only have to know that I am here to help you.

Seeing that Ji Ziming was preparing to leave the house in a suit, Pei Ge’s heart was in her mouth. She chased after him.
“Don’t you have something to say to me today?”
She was still baffled on what was going on with him or, rather, what was inside that email that he had purposely hidden from her on the ne.
“What should I say to you?”
The man stood on the same spot and did not turn around as he exuded a regal aura.
“No matter what happens between us, you can tell me about it; I don’t wish to see you treating me like this.”
Pei Ge choked slightly. She was a woman, after all, and the mother of his children. She would not let Qu Jingwan break her and this man’s rtionship, and neither would she allow her to snatch her son.
“You’re overthinking things.”
When the man heard the woman’s sobs, his heart squeezed, but he could not turn around. If he saw her tears now, his heart would ache and he would admit defeat.
His voice became colder which cast an even frostier chill over her heart than the cold, autumn air.
“If there’s nothing else, don’t bother me anymore; I’m going to thepany.”
He walked straight ahead after speaking amid the helper’s bows as they bade goodbye to him and opened the car door for him. The car left her line of vision soon after.
She felt her entire sky being overcast yet she had no idea that this was all his n. However, his sadness was not anything less than what she was experiencing.
“Young master’s wife, did you two fight?”
Auntie Zhang ced the fresh flowers into a tall, translucent vase. The blooming lilies seemed to be mocking Pei Ge for being head over heels for the man despite him not paying attention to her.
“No.”
Her voice sounded shaky, and even she herself did not understand why she ended up in this state.
It seemed that they had a conflict over whether Qu Jingwan should leave or stay in the house. Neither could she kick out thedy nor could she let her act like a tyrant. This was especially so after her words this morning which stabbed her heart like a sword. Her heart was still bleeding, but she had to believe in the man.
Pei Ge believed that, no matter what happened, her man would always be hers.
Nobody could take him away from her and nobody could rece her ce in his heart.
“Madam, I heard young master and Miss Qu talkingst night.”
Seeing that she was unwilling to admit that there was a conflict between them, Auntie Zhang still hoped that she could drive away Qu Jingwan. A helper could not dictate their employer’s happiness, but as she had been working in this family for many years, she felt ufortable seeing them bicker.
They were like her children, so she always wanted to do something for them.
Even if she could not do anything, she needed tofort her.
Pei Ge was shocked because that meant that Qu Jingwan’s words earlier were true. She even pretended to believe the man, but it turned out that she was the most ridiculous, ignorant, and foolish person here.
“What did they talk about?”
Although she was unwilling to believe this truth, she was hoping for a chance.
“I heard Miss Qu asking the young master not to leave, and heforted her, saying that he would not leave.”
The old cook suddenly remembered that she was speaking to Pei Ge and her words would not console thetter. In fact, this woman’s rtionship with her young master only would get worse because of this.
Realizing that she had said something wrong, she quickly arranged the flowers and went to the backyard after finding herself an excuse.
Pei Ge had no idea how she went up to her bedroom. The children were brought to the courtyard for their ytime by the helpers, and she was the only one left in the huge room.
Her body and mind felt as though they were being slowly eaten away by ants. She could not even subconsciously believe in the man anymore.
Shey t on her stomach in the soft bed. She could vividly remember that they were being intimate here a few days ago, yet he went to another woman’s bed just like that.
Ji Ziming was driving to a ce where it held all the information he wanted to know.
Lying in bed, Pei Ge realized that she could not resign herself to this. She had to find the source of the problem regardless of whether the man stayed in Qu Jingwan’s room or they slept together.
Compared to love and rtionship, she still had herpany to manage, and she should not crush herself before that missy could.
Since the man was unwilling to investigate thepany’s matter for her, she would do so using her resources.
Just as she moved to take her phone, it rang.
It was an unknown number but showed that the call was made in this city.
She did not give much thought to it, surmising that it was a call from herpany’s secretary or assistant, yet she heard a deep, hoarse voice when she picked it up.
“Hello, are you Pei Ge?”
She frowned, unsure on if she knew this person but still politely answered.
“Yes, I am; who are you?”
“It doesn’t matter who I am, but what matters is that you have to know that I’m here to help you.”
Qu Xiujie was so surprised that he could not stop smiling. He did not believe that he could find someone so alike his sister at this age; rather, Pei Ge was his nephew. She was his closest family member. He had finally found himself a family member before dying.
Pei Ge did not recall knowing the person on the other end after hearing his voice. His voice sounded almost as old as his mother’s.
She straightaway thought that she had received a harassment call. On the other end, the man did not have enough time to be excited before hearing the busy tone.
It was fine if she hung up because he had many chances to find her in the future and tell her about the older generation’s matters.
The more Pei Ge thought about it, the queerer she found it. The caller earlier said that he was helping her, then he should have known that she was faced with some problems or was most probably nearby.
