    Amid their chatter andughter, the two nurses measured Zhang Manhua’s body temperature and told her of the things she needed to take note of. They then left the mother-daughter pair by themselves in the ward.


    “Mom, are you hungry? I’ll go out to buy some food if you are.” She helped tuck her mother into bed.


    Zhang Manhua shook her head. “I’m not hungry; I ate a little at home. You should, though. You’ve been busy, so you probably haven’t eaten dinner yet.”


    “I’m not hungry, too.” She smiled at her mother.


    “You still have to eat something even if you’re not hungry.” Frowning, she tried to persuade her daughter.


    “Mom, I’m really not hungry. It’s just perfect, since I can lose some weight.” She sat at the bedside as sheughed.


    “Youss talking about losing weight, no one will believe you.” Zhang Manhua knocked her on the head in amusement.


    Chatting with her mother for a little while, her thoughts soon drifted to her best friend, Tang Xiaoyu.


    She sighed softly halfway through her speech.


    “Sigh...”


    “What’s wrong? Why are you suddenly sighing?” Her mother looked at her curiously.


    “I’m just thinking about why I haven’t been able to contact Tang Xiaoyu for almost a week.” She shared her worries to her mother.


    Her mother also became morose at this.


    “That child... Why is she suddenly unreachable?”
