    “Ling, I’m sorry. 20 years ago, I rushed over to look for you as soon as I received your letter, but I was toote.”


    Ye Ling stretched out her hand to wipe away Du Juan’s tears.


    She whispered, “We are finally reunited...”

    Du Juan smiled self-deprecatingly. Not only was she older now, but she had also gotten sick. She was no longer the young girl that they remembered.


    “What about me? I don’t even have my own face anymore.”

    “Aren’t we together now? Du Juan, thank you for treating my daughter so well.”

Come to think of it, though, Tianxin must have inherited the best traits from you and Xie Xuning. Although she doesn’t look like you, there are still some simrities between mother and daughter. Ling, you have a wonderful daughter.”


    Du Juan held on to Ye Ling’s hands tightly.


    Ye Ling looked at Jin Xin who was sitting beside Du Juan. She asked, “Is this your husband?”


    “Yes. This is my husband, Jin Xin. Oh right, Ling, we are getting married on February 14th. Will you attend our wedding?”


    Ye Ling replied, “Yes, I am free that day.”


    “Do you want to be my bridesmaid? Do you remember how we agreed to be each other’s bridesmaid many years ago?”


    Ye Ling shook her head. “Let Tianxin be your bridesmaid. I’m too old to be your bridesmaid now. Du Juan, your happiness is the most important.”


    Du Juan did not know why Ye Ling refused to be her bridesmaid, but she knew Ye Ling must have had her reasons.


    “All right, I will ask my goddaughter to be my bridesmaid instead.”


    Although the two best friends had been apart for 20 years, there was no awkwardness between them. Instead, they were veryfortable with each other and chatted away merrily.
