    “Mr. Xiao, I-1 have something to report to you,” You Luan stammered.


    “Speak.” Xiao Yichen’s response was curt, his gaze cold.


    “I, I, I… saw… Madam. She seems to be back,” You Luan nervously told him the news.


    In an instant, Xiao Yichen’s expression shifted. Anger flickered in his eyes, but a mix of excitement, surprise, and turmoily beneath it.

    Without uttering a word, Xiao Yichen hung up and stood abruptly. After addressing Bai Lu, he stated, “I’ll be leaving.”


    Bai Lu, bewildered, asked about her return route, but Xiao Yichen, showing no inclination to respond, departed without looking back.


    “Yichen, how do I get back?” Bai Lu inquired urgently, but Xiao Yichen strode away, seemingly oblivious to her.

    En route to the city, Xiao Yichen instructed You Luan to have Shen Qing investigate Lin Wan and Lu Hao’s whereabouts.

    It was past seven in the evening when they arrived to deliver the findings.

    “Lin Wan is back. She’s working at a jewelrypany called Elite Jewelry. Lin Wan is staying at her mother’s house, but…” Shen Qing reported.


    Xiao Yichen’s piercing gaze prompted Shen Qing to lower her head, sensing the impending storm.


    Shen Qing was so frightened that she immediately lowered her head. She understood what he meant and hurriedly continued, “Lu Hao hadn’t returned. We found no information about his entry.”
