    Lin Wan opened her eyes and heard Xiao Yichen’s words. She wanted to believe him, but she found it hard to answer.


    Xiao Yichen waited for a while, but Lin Wan remained silent. He continued, “1 don’t love Yanxi. I’m only kind to her because of our childhood friendship.”


    “Wan’er, the person I love is you,” Xiao Yichen dered firmly. “1 admit that I was initially attracted to your appearance, but then I fell in love with you as a person. My love for you hasn’t changed from the beginning and won’t change in the future.”


    Upon hearing Xiao Yichen’s words, Lin Wan’s heart couldn’t help but flutter. Every word he spoke was crucial to her since he was the one she loved.


    Overwhelmed by her feelings, Lin Wan gently closed her eyes. Her thoughts were in turmoil, and she wasn’t sure what to believe.


    She wanted to trust everything Xiao Yichen was saying, but his anger at Qinling Vi and the call from Xu Yanxi had shaken her. Which side of him should she trust? The one who loved and treated her well or didn’t love her, where his affections belonged to Xu Yanxi, and he could hurt her whenever he was upset?


    When Xiao Yichen finished speaking, he didn’t wait for Lin Wan’s response. Looking down, he noticed Lin Wan had closed her eyes to rest. Xiao Yichen decided not to press her further and held her closer before falling asleep.


    In the morning, sunlight seeped through the gaps in the curtains, filling the room with warmth. Lin Wan awoke, and the room was quiet. Xiao Yichen was still sleeping soundly beside her.


    Lin Wan carefully slipped out of Xiao Yichen’s embrace, got up, and prepared to freshen up.


    Lin Wan changed into casual home clothes since it was Sunday and she had no workmitments. As she headed downstairs, the doorbell suddenly rang.


    Auntie Li was in the kitchen when she heard the doorbell. She rushed out to answer it.


    When she saw Lin Wan standing at the staircase, Auntie Li was momentarily taken aback, then greeted her with a smile, “Good morning, Madam.”


    “Mm…” Lin Wan replied with a smile. She had intended to open the door herself but decided otherwise.


    Lin Wan stood still and watched as Auntie Li opened the door. She was also surprised that someone woulde to Blue Bay vi so early in the morning.


    When Auntie Li opened the door and saw the person on the other side, her smile disappeared, and she adopted a stern expression.


    Xu Yanxi noticed the change in Auntie Li’s demeanor and instantly harbored resentment. She nced at Auntie Li with disdain and said, “A mere maid should know her ce. Don’t get too big for your britches.”


    Auntie Li disregarded Xu Yanxi’s words and said coldly, “You’re not wee here. Please leave.”

    Xu Yanxi anticipated her actions. She extended her foot to block the door from closing and used both hands to shove Auntie Li to the ground forcefully. With a disdainful nce at her, Xu Yanxi stepped inside.


    Lin Wan hadn’t expected Xu Yanxi to arrive at Blue Bay vi so early. Furthermore, Xu Yanxi’s appearance came as a surprise to her. Xu Yanxi couldn’t have entered while Xiao Yichen was still present.


    Lin Wan questioned Xu Yanxi, “Why are you here?”


    This was her home. Even if Xu Yanxi and Xiao Yichen had a rtionship, she could onlye here when he wasn’t around.


    Xu Yanxi didn’t immediately respond to Lin Wan’s question. Instead, she red at her with disdain and pped Lin Wan. Then she replied, “I’m the mistress of this house.. Why do you think I’m here?”
