Chapter 441
“Do you think she’ll ept me? Will she call me brother?”
Ian raised an eyebrow at him. “That depends on how you behave. She’s my wife, and she listens to
me.”
It was clear as day what he meant. Getting ra to acknowledge him meant getting past Ian first.
Edwin wasn’t thrilled internally, but he put on an eager face. Leaning close, he whispered in Ian’s
ear, “Alright, name your price. I’ll meet it, my dear brother-inw!”
He bit down hard on the words “brother-inw,” with a smug smile ying on his lips.
Just then, Edwin’s phone began to ring. Elle’s urgent voice came through, “Ggrandma’s fever’s
spiked again. She keeps calling for ra. Can you bring her over?”
Ever since ra had disappeared, Marian had fallen ill. The fever wouldn’t break. She was in a
semi-conscious state, but the one clear thing was she remembered ra was her granddaughter.
The doctors called it a psychological fixation, and she needed to resolve her inner turmoil to fully
recover. But to do that, ra needed to be there.
However, ra still couldn’t ept her new identity. Her health was fragile, and she was pregnant.
Considering all this, Edwin looked at Ian with a troubled expression. “What do we do? If grandma
keeps this up, she might notst much longer.”
Ian nced towards the hospital room and hesitated before saying, “You go back first. I’ll talk to
Casey about it.”
Edwin pped Ian on the shoulder with a thud and silently left. He pushed open the hospital room
door to see the doctors trying to cool Marian down with ice packs.
Marian was delirious. Her cheeks were burning hot. Her heart rate and blood pressure were
unstable.
Edwin approached Marian, taking her hand gently. “Grandma, ra’s been rescued, but she’s been
through a shock, and the baby’s at risk. She needs to rest. Can you hold on a little longer?”
Marian nodded faintly in her daze, murmuring, “ra, my sweet girl, she’s suffered.” As she thought
of the ordeal ra had endured, all because of Heidi, a child they had doted on since birth, her
heart ached immensely.
Suddenly, the doctor announced, “Patient’s heart has stopped. We need to resuscitate immediately.”
When she watched the doctors perform life-saving procedures on Marian, Elle’s tears fell.
“Grandma!”
She tried to rush forward but was pulled into Anders’ embrace. His hand gently stroked her head as
he whispered, “It’ll be alright. She’ll wake up.”

No sooner had he finished his reassurance than the doctor said, “Family members, please sign the
critical condition notice.”
When she heared this, Elle’s legs gave out, and she copsed into Anders’ arms.
“Elle, Elle.” Anders quickly picked her up andid her on a nearby bed.
At that moment, the door swung open, and Ian appeared with ra. Elle immediately got off the
bed, ran to ra, grasping her hands and crying, “ra, grandma’s fading fast. She’s been calling
your name.”
ra felt her eyes fill with tears. She stepped to the bedside, took Marian’s hand, and said softly,
“Grandma, it’s me, ra.”
