    Edwin figured it out immediately. He quickly grabbed the nket from behind him and draped it


    around ra. His voice was gentle and soothing. “Don’t worry. The baby will be just fine. Don’t think


    about anything right now. I’m here for you, okay?”


    Even though Ian wasn’t by her side, Edwin’s words seemed to have some effect. ra’s anxious

    Edwin paced outside, more anxious than he had ever been. His mind raced with thoughts of what


    would happen to ra if something happened to Casey, and whether the baby could be saved.


    Just then, the doors to the emergency room swung open and Chase came out. Urgency marked his


    face as he said, “Immediate surgery is required, but given the skill level of everyone here, the
