    Heidi gazed at the disconnected call, a glint of triumph flickering in her eyes. She refused to believe

    Greta was unsympathetic. “It’s the dead of night, and ady of your standing is with my brother.


    Think of the scandal it would cause. I’ll have the chauffeur take home.”
