    Candice clenched her hand and rebuked, "I already told you that it''s just me feeling down."


    Alex chuckled cryptically. He looked down to mask the emotions in his eyes.


    After a while, he raised his gaze and asked, "Has no one ever told you that you make a lot of tiny


    gestures when you lie?"


    Candice''s fingers, which were digging into her palm, froze. She remained silent, evidently unwilling


    to discuss the matter further.


    Alex stopped pressing an answer out of her. He took his pills and got ready to resume work.


    Candice gave it some thought before she asked, "What do you think of Henry?"


    "Pretentious, exaggerated, fake, sleazy, and a worthless piece of shit," Alex said without looking up.
