Chapter 0353
He spoke naturally, his gaze subtly fixed on Candice.
Candice hadn''t said anything yet when Ang approached with a smile, all out to support Alex.
She had just touched up her makeup, and her eyes sparkled when she smiled. "Ah, Mr. Elysian, I
told you earlier that I''d take you back."
Ang, a native of Sris, spoke with a natural coyness. It wasn''t feigned but rather pleasant to
listen to.
She looked at Candice and smiled, "Do you know Mr. Elysian?"
The inquiry in her tone was evident, and Candice replied calmly, "My studio has coborated with
Mr. Elysian."

"Oh, I see." Ang''s tone took a turn, "No wonder Mr. Elysian takes care of you so much. But the
weather is not good now, and you outsiders may not adapt well to typhoon days. It would be more
suitable for me to take Mr. Elysian back."
There was no subtle implication; Ang was direct.
In the past, Candice would have unreservedly rebutted, but now, she just nodded, taking it as
acknowledgment.
She turned away, and Ang''s sweet voice came from behind, a blend of coquetry and yfulness,
"Mr. Elysian."
Along with this voice, a mix of cedar and alcohol scent, cool yet intoxicated, wafted over.
The man''s shadow cast over her, and Alex''s slightly hoarse voice echoed above her, "Stop ying
around; I really don''t feel well."
Candice hesitated for a moment, lifting her eyes to Alex. The crystalmp in the private room was
clear and bright, making the slightly tipsy look in Alex''s eyes even more noticeable.
His eyes were dark and shiny due to the alcohol.
Alex''s shirt cor was tightly fastened, but his eyes were tinged with red. The air of lofty coldness
instantly turned into a tempting aura.
He was close to Candice, and his warmth could be felt on her skin.
Instinctively, she took a step back, creating some distance between them. Unconsciously, she
reminded Alex, "If you''re not feeling well, you should see a doctor."
Alex paused, and he lightly twisted his eyebrows. "What are you angry about?"
Candice''s gaze dimmed. She had half a mind to argue, but she felt that arguing with a drunk
wouldn''t mean much.
Suppressing her anger, she said, "I''ll call Sawyer for you."
Alex remained silent. When Candice looked up again, she found him gazing at her intently.
After a while, his lips slightly moved, and his low voice murmured, "Candice, my stomach seems
ufortable."
In the early years of his entrepreneurial journey, Alex drank a lot, resulting in several health issues,
with gastrointestinal problems being the most severe. Later, when Aether Corporation began
developing, he stopped drinking too much.
However, tonight, many people were urging him to drink. He couldn''t refuse all of them without
losing face, and it seemed his old problem had red up again.
"You can ask Sawyer to take you to see a doctor—"
As Candice spoke, Alex suddenly clutched his stomach and leaned toward her.
The once faint scent of alcohol now intensified, catching her off guard. She reached out to support
him.
Alex, tall and robust, was already a head taller than Candice. Now, almost all his strength pressed
down on her.
Supporting him became a bit strenuous for her.
"Mr.Elysian," a soft voice sounded from the side. Ang, who had been standing still, came over
and helped Candice move Alex to the nearby sofa for a rest.
Looking at Alex, who was resting with closed eyes, hisplexion not looking good, and his hand
still on his stomach, Candice lifted her gaze to Ang. Just as she was about to speak, Ang
shrugged, "Okay, it seems Mr. Elysian trusts you more. Do you need me to help you take him
down?"
Candice paused, "Didn''t you say you were going to take him back?"
"Obviously, he''s not interested in me." Ang generously admitted, "It''s an unwritten rule in the
industry—don''t fight over men."
She finished speaking and blinked at Candice, using a sweet and soft Southern ent, "Good luck
to you."
In the end, Candice and Ang helped Alex downstairs and called a taxi.
Before Ang left, she exchanged contact information with Candice.
After some hesitation, Candice still decided to take him to the nearest hospital.
"Back to the hotel," Alex''s hoarse and tired voice stated.
Candice nced sideways. "Aren''t you feeling unwell?"
"Mmm," Alex responded nasally, then closed his eyes to rest.
Not pushing it any further, Candice went straight back to the hotel. Halfway through, Sawyer called,
mentioning he was stuck on the elevated road and didn''t know when he could arrive. Originally,
Sawyer hade with them, but due to an unexpected request from Aether Corporation, he had
returned to the hotel early to handle some documents.
Candice whispered, "You don''t need toe; we''ll be at the hotel soon."
Sawyer agreed promptly.
Candice hung up and nced unintentionally to the side. Alex was resting with closed eyes, and his
long eyshes cast a shadow on his nose.
He was handsome; she had never denied that. Yana had once jokingly asked if she was captivated
by Alex''s face.
As if sensing her gaze, Alex''s eyshes twitched. Suddenly, he opened his eyes and locked eyes
with Candice. His eyes held an indissoluble fatigue and an inexplicable emotion.
He looked at Candice, and ripples formed in his deep and ck pupils. With a dry throat, he asked,
"What are you looking at?"
Candice shifted her gaze back. "We''ll be at the hotel soon."
Upon arriving at the hotel, Alex seemed more awake. At the very least, he was not putting all his
weight on Candice anymore. In the elevator, he handed over a room key card, saying, "Hold onto
this."
While it should have been a flirtatious gesture, Candice had little reaction. She didn''t even take the
room card, saying, "I''ll take you upstairs and then leave."
Alex would never mistreat himself, so he had gotten himself the suite upstairs. Candice intended to
leave after escorting him to the door, but Alex grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
She looked at him with calm eyes.
However, his grip tightened, and as his forehead started sweating, Candice''s expression changed. It
wasn''t that she couldn''t stand seeing him in difort, but with only the two of them here, if
something happened to him, exining it would be troublesome.
Gently taking the room card from Alex''s hand, Candice hesitated for a moment and ended up
assisting him inside. Taking off his coat, pouring water, and contacting the front desk for hangover
soup and medicine were tasks Candice had done countless times before, and she executed them
as proficiently as ever.
She came out of the bathroom with a wet towel and saw Alex half-leaning against the bed. She
handed the towel to him, saying, "Wipe yourself."
Alex seemed annoyed as he unbuttoned the top two buttons, revealing a glimpse of his elusive
corbone.
"I can''t possibly wipe you," she retorted.
He remained still. His watery eyes looked at Candice for a long time before he uttered in a low,
throaty voice, "Candice—"
