<h4>Chapter 685 Xin is grateful</h4>


    Fu Ling wasn''t too sure anymore because by now, the surgery on her mother should have started so there was no need for her to be crying.


    "Xin?" Fu Ling called out as he came to stand before her with a confused gaze.


    When Xin heard her name being called, her mind was too clouded to recognize the voice. But when she slowly looked up and saw Fu Ling''s face, her buttnded on the floor due to the shock.


    Never would she have expected to see him here.


    "What are you doing on the floor? Are there no sits here?" Fu Ling asked with furrowed brows.


    Heating that voice again, Xin began to suspect that Fu Ling was the one right in front of her, but to be over clear, she cleaned her tears which made her sight blurry, before looking up again.


    It was now that Xin realized that he was the one standing right in front of her. She was truly shocked to see him up close, and it was now that her sense of smell started to work.


    She could now perceive the familiar perfume used by her former Boss on daily basis.


    Seeing that she was too confused to say anything, Fu Ling stretched forth an arm to help her up and she instinctively took his arm and got to her feet.


    Fu Ling only let her go when he was sure that she was steady enough to stand by herself. Gazing at her, he asked, "Why are you out here crying, hasn''t the surgery started yet?"


    Xin nodded, "Yes, it started a few minutes ago." It was only a few secondster that she realized the question he had asked. And it was enough did her to guess that he must be her benefactor.


    "Your mother will be fine, at least the doctor assured me of that, so stop crying and pray for the surgery to be sessful." Fu Ling advised.


    He spoke t the doctor briefly in other to understand her mother''s current state, and the danger she was in.


    The doctor had told him that with an hour more dy, her mother would have almost less percent chance of surviving, but because he came at a good time, the surgery will be a sess.


    "Are you the one that paid for my mother''s surgery?" Xin asked after a moment of silence, just to confirm her doubts.


    Fu Ling asked her to follow him to go sit over in the reception room. He neither epted nor rejected her spection, which boiled down to her confirming that he was her benefactor.


    Instead of saying thanks, Xin went straight to ask other questions.


    "How did you know about my mother''s condition and the fact that I was here?"


    "Where do you think I''ming from?" Fu Ling threw a question back to her. If she couldn''t figure out where shest saw him, then she could forget about getting an answer from him.


    Xin didn''t need to think too much to find out how he knew her location and her mother''s condition.


    When they had taken their seats, she fiddled with her fingers and said with her gaze downwards, "Thank you foring over to help me. My mother would have lost her chance for a second chance at life if you didn''t help me. Thank you so much for your help, and I promise to repay you."


    "We would talk about your debtster, for now, eat something and have the energy to watch over your mother once she is out from the ER." Fu Ling said as he handed over the leather he brought with him.


    After the doctor left, he stepped out to go buy food for Xin from a nearby restaurant. He was sure she hadn''t eaten anything since that day, so he left to buy her something.


    Again, Xin was surprised by Fu Ling''s gesture, because it was unlike him. The treatment he was giving to her was surely very different from how he treated her when she was still working under him.


    Xin dyed in receiving the food from him because of her swinging thoughts. "Mr. Fu, you didn''t have to go extra mile for me, you have already helped me enough."


    Fu Ling forced the food into her hands and said with a frown, "It''s definitely because I do not want to handle any more issues that I went out to buy food for you. What if you faint here, who will take care of your mother? You would be a big burden to everybody so eat up and get the strength to do your job."


    With him being harsh with his words, Xin epted the food and thanked him.


    "I have somewhere to be now, keep your phone beside you and answer when I call. Also, once the surgery is over, call me." Fu Ling said as he got to his feet.


    He had something else to do, and so he could not apany her till her mother was pushed out of the ER.


    Xin was never expecting him to stay and watch with her. I''m fact, it would have been very normal if he had just paid the hospital bills and left immediately, because staying back and buying her a meal, was way out of his league.


    Once again, Xin thanked Fu Ling and wanted to walk him out, but he rejected her gesture, and instead, reminded her to finish her food.


    After Fu Ling disappeared from her sight, Xin sat back on the chair and heaved a deep sigh of relief.


    ncing at the food in her hands, she sighed again, before she unwrapped it from the nylon and began to eat.


    Now, she had one less problem to worry about, and that was the fact that she couldn''t wait for her mother toe out from the ER.


    Xin obeyed Fu Ling''s instruction by finishing her food. Her stomach has been empty since morning, and now that there was nothing else that would worry her greatly, she felt the hunger within her and had to finish her food.
