Wace had been constantly using his Void Phase to quickly return to the city that was under siege.


    As soon as he reached the vicinity of the city, he saw arge group of people covered by ck miasma fighting against the soldiers of the city. Magic Spells, bullets, and other projectiles enhanced by magic were flying across the sky as they fought intensely.


    ''They''re really the same group who previously attacked my house... What do they want anyway?''


    Behind the group of the terrorist was a hooded man. He feels like an evil magician with arge red orb grasp in his hands. The orb was ck and inside it was a pulsating crimson light as if it was an eye.


    ''Ahh... This must be the Sealed Mana Artifact: Hallowed Eye. Just by looking at it, it really does look something that must be sealed. No wonder.''


    Wace nced at the ongoing fight and noticed that the soldiers where being pushed back.


    ''That''s weird... Our defense forces shouldn''t be this weak.''


    "Avalon... Do you have an idea on what was happening?"


    [ The chain ofmand was disrupted due to the disappearance of the City Mayor. ]


    "What happened?" Wace knitted his brows upon hearing the report.


    [ There was a group of terrorists who had sneakily entered the city and caused havoc within. Many high-ranking officers were deployed to rout them but perished in return. ]


    [ They made an assassination attempt to City Mayor and although the Mayor wasn''t killed and only his double has suffered, he and the Chief of Police were still injured by the sheer force of the suicide bombers of the terrorists. They were now in hiding and couldn''t give orders. No information about the Mayor''s current location. ]


    [ Based on thetest information, the defense was currently beingmanded by a member of the Lucent Force. Unable to get more information due to the changes in theirmunication method. ]

    [ Due to the terrorist''s devices simr to an EMP, the Lucent Force took over themand and were using Magic to send orders andmunication instead of the police forces'' electronic device. ]

    Wace grinned at this. At the moment, he was just waiting for Avalon toplete the calction to make sure that he won''t miss the shot.


    Although it was sad to say, he only has to pull the trigger.At the very least, he learned how amazing his A.I was.

    Wace didn''t hesitate as he pulled the trigger.

    It was a genuine shot from a Positron Impulse Cannon.


    Wace holds his breath as he wanted to see how powerful this weapon was. He was actually hoping that this Adept he targeted could somehow defend against it.


    Why? Because once the Meredith Empire really came here, he was hoping that there were really some powerful artifacts or Adepts out there that could contend against the forces of the empire. After all, the powerful Arcanist and Grand Arcanist were very few in numbers.


    So Wace wanted to have a better way to calcte the strength of the Adepts and learn how to better help them in the near future.


    As for his current simtion in VR Pod, the simtions for Adepts were still imperfect due to his low sample. It will naturally be adjusted by Avalon in due time.

    A huge explosion disrupted the ongoing battle. This stopped both the terrorist and the soldiers from exchanging fires. The shot caused a powerful shockwave making everyone wobble on their feet. The ground even trembled for several seconds before it stopped.


    Even the few fully buffed or enhanced Lucent Force members were shocked at the scene.


    Some of them immediately look at the direction where the shot came from. Although they couldn''t see the shooter clearly they noticed a silhouette from afar. Well, since they aimed at the terrorist, although the soldiers were affected a little bit, they can tell that he should be friendly so they didn''t bother recognizing them for now.     Wace vanished and reappeared close to his house. But suddenly, he was warned by Avalon about an iing projectile. It happened so fast as Avalon gave him instructions on what to do.


    Since that was the case, he relied on Avalon''s suggestion. This super A.I.''s processing speed was beyond him so he trusted him and did what it wanted.

    The Phantom Squad was looking so happy about their aplishment this time. They watched the improvised missile they made as it collided to the house''s barrier and saw a huge explosion after.

    A deafening st was heard as the explosion even formed a mushroom cloud showing how powerful this attack was. It was followed by an aftershock as it even caused a little earthquake cracking the surroundingnd.


    "Hahaha! Eat that!"


    Most of themughed and some had a grin on their faces as they started to back away and retreat. Thismotion had surely attracted the attention of some members of the Lucent Force. They have to quickly get away from this ce or they would be captured or killed.

    "Eh?" They saw that the leader that threw the improvised explosives was suddenly sttered on the ground. And for some reason, his death didn''t activate the bomb inside his body.


    A huge metal humanoid body was suddenly standing in front of them.


    "W-where did this came from?!"

    "What was an Iron Knight doing here?!"


    "Stupid! That''s not an Iron Knight!"


    One of them could only say as he doesn''t have time to exin. Iron Knights were products from the Northern Continent that could not be revised to avoid degrading its performance. Those things were definitely cutepared to this evil-looking humanoid machine.

    They have different things in mind after seeing what was in front of them but they still have something inmon... and that was their n that didn''t need to be said - Escape.


    Wace noticed the difference from the attackers today and from the previous two. They do not possess arge amount of ck miasma with them but they possess a threatening amount of energy hidden within their bodies.


    For this reason, Wace had been careful when he stepped to the man who threw the improvised bomb. He made sure that he didn''t have a chance to activate the bomb within their bodies.


    And so, he repeated the same thing to the fleeing enemies. He could fire at them but he decided not to do so to ensure that they wouldn''t have a chance to use their bombs and cause more damage in his neighborhood.
