Chapter 174

Pausing in her tracks, she tucked her hands into the deep pockets of her coat, slowly exhaled a breath,

and then, with a smile ying on her lips, asked, “Something on your mind?”

Jason strode up to her, one hand casually buried in his pocket, the other yfully brushing away a

stray lock of hair from her forehead. “Not heading home?”

His nonchnce was met with a chuckle from Estre. After herughter subsided, she gently pushed

his hand away. “I’m not joking with you, Jason. I am serious about getting a divorce.”

His hand, once removed, curled into a loose fist. “I was out of line with what I said the other day.”

Following his sh with Grayson at the bar, Jason had mulled over both his words and those of his

friend, admitting to himself that iming Dorvold Group couldn’t clinch the deal if he had intervened

    was indeed an overstatement.

“So, are you apologizing?” Estre, hands still pocketed, looked at him with an amused smile. “Alright, I

ept your apology, but Jason, we’re really not right for each other. Let’s just go through with the

    proceedings, okay?”

    I

As Estre brushed past him, Jason caught her arm. “About the other day, seeing Holly was just-”

Before Jason could finish, Estre cut him off. “Jason, I’m not interested in who you see or what you

do. I just don’t want to be with you anymore.”

She had tried, given chances, but tolerance and patience had their limits. Once exhausted, she had no

intention of ying games with him any longer.

At Estre’s resolve, Jason yanked her back with a bit more force. His persistence annoyed her. “What

is it you want, Jason? Don’t tell me you’re not ready for divorce. Nearly three years of marriage and I

can see the indifference written all over your face. Can’t you, as a man, just let go?”

Estre’s impatience was met with a fierce re from Jason. “Are,

    you want?”

“Yes, I’m adamant about the divorce.”

    sure this is what

Jason had even approached her father at the Dorvold Group. If she didn’t end this marriage soon, she

feared he might try to take over thepany.

Her insistence on divorce evident, Jason’s grip tightened, veins on the back of his hand standing out.

Seeing this, Estre forcefully withdrew her hand, the bandage on her ring finger still

    00.15 #s

intact, the wound beneath not yet healed. As she reimed her hand, Jason bit back, teeth clenched in

irony, “Fine, you want a divorce, I’ll grant it.” With that, he turned and walked away without a backward

    nce.

At the doorway, Estre watched his retreating figure until he rounded the corner towards the elevator,

then she entered her apartment, closing the door gently behind her. She stood still for a moment, hand

pressed to her stomach, before slowly making her way to

    the couch to sit down.

Jason never visited her after that. Estre didn’t return to Sandalwood Oasis, and he

returned even less frequently. Each return to the empty house, devoid of warmth or liveliness, left him

    feeling hollow inside.

Opening the bedroom door, Jason looked towards the desk. For a moment, he thought he saw Estre

smiling in greeting, but as he focused, he found the room empty, not even a mosquito in sight.

Rubbing his temples, frustration washed over him. In the past, she would never leave Sandalwood

Oasis, no matter what. Even if Jason didn’te home at night, she would wait for him. No matter

what he did outside, she would always greet him with a smile.

Standing at the door, lost in thought, Jason eventually turned and left without entering the

    room.

As he was about to leave, Marie stopped him. Mr. Jason, aren’t you going to bring Ms.

    Estre back?”

Before he could respond, Marie continued, “Mr. Jason, women need to beforted. Just charm Ms.

Estre a bit, and she’lle back. In Marie’s eyes, Estre was a woman of

great patience, always cheerful and forgiving of Mr. Jason’s faults Marie believed a little

affection from him would surely win Estre back.

Despite Marie’s advice, Jason simply replied, “I’m leaving,” taking his car keys.

Marie hurried after him, insistent. “Mr. Jason, why are you just leaving? Go and bring Ms Estre back.”

Jason didn’t respond. He got into his car and drove away from Sandalwood Oasis. He ha intended to

head to the office, but found himself outside Estre’s building. Recalling her steadfastness about the

divorce during theirst encounter, he tossed his phone aside in frustration.

Actually, after Holly returned, he had barely seen her twice, ter being approached by Catrina instead.

Realizing that his words that night had been harsh, Jason finally dialed Estre’s number. This time,

she didn’t hang up. “Figured it out?” she asked indifferently.

It used to be Jason who asked her if she hade to her senses and was ready for a divorce.

Without waiting for her to borate, Jason asked coldly, “You’re in such a hurry to divorce. Are you

    pregnant?”

After nearly three years of silent endurance, was it so easy for her to walk away? Since when was

    Estre so agreeable?

Jason suspected she had achieved her goal and was now eager to end the marriage, especially since
