Chapter 160

Estre was taken aback, rolling her eyes as she said, “Jason, let go of my hand, will ya?”

Jason peeled off his shirt, revealing a chest and abs that made Estre’s mouth go dry. When her gaze

inevitably drifted southward, she had to swallow hard again. Not only was his face a knockout, but his

body was sculpted to perfection, and even his…

Estre’s gaze zed over, and Jason, pinching her chin, asked teasingly, “What’re you staring at,

    huh?”

Estre shot back with a hint of sass, “I’ll look wherever I damn well please.” After all, there wasn’t an

inch of him she hadn’t seen.

ying along, Jason started to unbuckle his belt, eyeing her with a mischievous glint, “This one’s for

    you.”

With that, he cast aside his trousers and pulled Estre into an embrace, whispering seductively in her

ear, “Let’s spice things up tonight.”

Jason didn’t wait for a response before blindfolding her with a piece ofcy lingerie.

Estre reminded him, “Take it easy, Jason. There might be a bun in the oven, you know.”

“When have I ever been anything but gentle with you?” he retorted, leaning in to kiss her lips.

After a yful teasing in the bedroom, Jason scooped up Estre and carried her to the bathroom for a

    luxurious bath.

Post-romance, while Estrey motionless on the bed, her phone suddenly rang. It was

    Bryce.

Jason was in the shower at the time.

Answering the call, Estre spoke weakly, “What’s up, Bryce?” She felt genuinely

    exhausted after their lovemaking.

On the other end, Bryce was all fired up, “Estre, I forgot to tell you at the karaoke bar, we tracked

    down that white Maserati.”

At the mention of the Maserati, Estre tensed up.

Bryce continued, “The owner’s a gal named Reba, 24 years old.”

Estre inquired, “Any connection to the Ledford family?”

“You’re on the ball, Estre. Did you look into it? This Reba turns out to be a distant rtive of the

Ledfords. She went abroad four years ago and only recently returned.”

The timeline was uncanny, almost matching the period of the great fire at Holly’s. And that

driver didn’t seem like she belonged to the Ledfords. Shecked that aristocratic air..

Estre’s thoughts lingered on the passenger of the Maserati more than anything else.

Bryce, sensing Estre’s silence, pressed, “Why the sudden interest in this car? Is it rted to your

    case?”

Snapping back to the conversation, Estre dismissed it, “Just curious.” The resemnce was

uncanny, and the Ledford connection was intriguing.

Bryce reassured her, “Alright then. Just call me if you need anything.”

Over the years, Bryce had always been there for Estre, true to his word that she was his top priority.

After she hung up with Bryce, Jason emerged from the bathroom, noticing Estre put down her phone.

As he dried his hair, he nced at her with a mix of suspicion and

    concern.

Their eyes met and Estre snapped, “It was Bryce.”

Jason tossed the towel aside, remarking on her fiery temper. He pulled her into his arms, “From now

on, I don’t want any other guyying a finger on you.”

Recalling Bryce’s friends fawning over Estre had left a sour taste in Jason’s mouth.

Estre scoffed. Before she could say another word, Jason’s lips were on hers. After their kiss, Estre

slipped out of his embrace and under the covers, eager for sleep.

Jason joined her in bed, enveloping her in his arms. As Estre nestled against him, she couldn’t help

but think back to the night’s revtion at the karaoke bar, and the mysterious figure that lingered in her

    mind.

Jason, sensing her distraction, squeezed her waist, “What’s on your mind?”

Estre snuggled closer, “Nothing,” and with that, she closed her eyes to sleep.

The next morning, Estre was woken by the vibration of her phone. Jason was already gone from her

    side.

It was Bryce calling. Estre answered with a groggy “Hello?”

“Estre, I need a bailout. Jason is making me go to the office. You gottae save me.”

She repliedzily, “He won’t bite. Just tough it out.”

Bryce pleaded, “You gotta help me.”

As Bryce whined, Drew snatched the phone away, “Mr. Bryce, Mr. Jason is waiting for you.”

“Drew, my phone, give me back my phone!”

“Help me out here, will ya?”

Drew then knocked on Jason’s office door, “Mr Jason, Mr. Bryce is here.”

At the desk, Jason nced up at Bryce, disinterestedly saying, “Is the paperwork for Velvet Voices KTV

sorted? Once it is, Bryce can start managing the ce.”

Bryce’s confusion turned to shock as he asked, “What’s this all about?”

Drew exined, “Mr. Jason just bought the Velvet Voices karaoke club. You’ll be running the ce,

overseeing the staff and managing gigs. He said the club’s performance better double under your

watch, or you’ll be off to build another school.”

Bryce was bbergasted, “How could you make me do something like a pimp?”

Jason chuckled with a mischievous glint in his eye. Without so much as a nce at Bryce, Jason

commanded, “Drew, escort Bryce to report to Velvet Voices KTV.”

“Right away, Mr. Jason.” Drew nodded, turning to Bryce with a courteous, “This way please.”

“Jason, you can’t do this to me. How’s E gonna look at me if I do this?”

    “Jason, Jason!”

Bryce’s pleas fell on deaf ears. Jason ignored himpletely, signaling Drew to take Bryce off to the

    club.

    Meanwhile, at Justice Guardians LLP.

Estre had just walked into her office when a colleague came up with a message, “Ms. Estre,

there’s a client who insists on seeing you. She’s requested you personally

    her case.”

After a few high-profile cases, especially those involving Ryan and Nick, who had significant social

presence, Estre’s reputation had soared both inside and outsid

    circles.

“Sure,” Estre responded as she headed to the client lounge.

Carrying her customary two cups of coffee, she entered the room to see a woman with distinguished air

about her, who looked to be just in her early thirties, although Estre suspected she was older.

“Ms. Estre,” the woman stood up promptly to greet her.

“Ms. Megan,” Estre handed her one of the coffees.

Taking the coffee with both hands, the woman settled down and introduced herself, “Ms.

Estre, my name is Megan, I’m 42 years old.”

Listening to her introduction, Estre turned on her recorder, picked up her notebook and pen, ready to

    take notes.
