481 Ragnorok


    The battlefield concentrated in a single area suddenly became still with an eerie silence that would make one very nervous with chills running down their back.


    These three however weren’t fazed. It wouldn’t be too arrogant to say that they were ready to take the heat head-on.


    From the bottom of the mist tongues with thick nodules slithered in silence heading towards the three mechs.


    The tongues were so silent and stuck close to the corpses of the beasts that it was easy to notice them. Like Yeoh Jun said the beasts had changed the ying field and began to fight smart.


    Lucky for them they had one of the three cmities amongst them. It was easy to find out something was amiss. The warning alert on th Igneous screen detected slight movement from the lifeless corpses.


    Yeoh Jun snorted with his lips quirked in sly arch. “Wrapyer,” he said while following the subtle movements on the ground.


    “Who in the hell named it that? That wasn’t creative,” said Zi Han changing his weapon to a mer before turning to Yi Chen.


    “They hate the heat change into a mer. It’s more effective,” he said and Yi Chen listened to him.


    Yeoh Jun engaged Igneous’ mer as well and as raised the mech’s hand telling them to hold off on the attack.

    “How many are there,” asked Zi Han his voice breathy with beads of cold sweat on his forehead making Yi Chen look at him worriedly.


    “I see six not nine now. So how do you want to y this?” asked Yeoh Jun.


    Zi Han pulled up devices containing the most mmable substances in the federation. These devices would direct the route at which the mes would go.


    “Ragnorok,” he said as the devices flew out into the mist.


    “Ragnorok it is then. Those bastards can’t be too far from their tongues,” he said as he watched the device floating in the mist.


    “You know what I just figured out?” asked Yeoh Jun his gaze back on sneaky bastards wiggling on the ground.


    “What?” replied Zi Han monitoring the devices through the floating screen.


    “I figured that this is like a boy’s night out. The best way to get to know my boys,” he said his face full of pride. How could he not be proud when he had two sons?


    Yi Chen couldn’t help but suppress a smile by pursing his lips but still one could see the slight arch at the corner.


    “Pa stop, you are embarrassing him,” said Zi Han but in truth, he was the one who was most embarrassed. He was happy though. That’s because his father was the only one who didn’t freak out or make a fuss. He just epted it and didn’t give Yi Chen a hard time.


    He suddenly had a feeling that if his dad was there from the beginning he would have put everyone in their ce. In fact, he would ship them off to the marriage registrar in a heartbeat.


    “I am not embarrassed,” said Yi Chen and Zi Han stared at him all wide eyed.


    “Ai... that’s a big mistake. Rule number one, never oppose your wife in public well, unless she is fighting. Then you can talk her out of it,” said Yeoh Jun only for Zi Han to cry out,


    “Dad!”


    “Eyes up front shoot the mist in ten seconds,” said Yeoh Jun, and ten secondster the first tongue with barbs on its tip reached Igneous’ feet.


    The mist that had been eerily silent suddenly shrieked as a firestorm swept through it. Streaks of electric like pulses could be seen through the mist and when the super heated sma from the mer touched it the mes burst forth and spread through it the mist killing anything inside without mercy.


    After ten minutes of ceaseless attacks, the shrieks finally stopped. “Was that good enough?”


    “There is still movement but dealing with mes would be of any use,” said Yeoh Jun as a choking thick cloud of smoke rose in the air.


    The smell of roasted flesh rose into the air choking anyone who inhaled it. From within the chaos, a beast about the same size as Igneous came out with ringly sharp eyes that could pierce one’s soul.


    This beast was different from the rest. It was both intelligent and agile with the makings of a perfect hunter, an apex predator.


    It had three dragon heads with one of them burnt halfway. Its skin was cracked with luminous red lights fiercely shining on through. Its tail was like that of a viper vicious and hissing at them like it was ready to strike them dead. Its forelegs had a sharp horn on its equine elbows and its tongues were long and slimy and its mouth filled with sharp canines. It snarled at them its eyes fixed on Igenous in an intimidating stance.


    Yeoh Jun’s lips twitched sensing something peculiar about this beast. He could feel that Yeoh Lang had done something unspeakable.


    The beast that seemed ready to attack just now suddenly scratched its ws on the ground and the bright red light glowed even brighter before it vanished.


    Seeing this Yeoh Jun’s chest clenched as he muttered, “Oh shit.”


    “What?”


    “Where did it go?”


    The pair asked simultaneously seeing the beast vanished.


    Yeoh Jun rubbed his face vigorously before calming down enough to talk. “Here is the thing... I think that nasty beast just performed a space jump.”


    “How? That’s fuckin impossible. How could it... oh no,” eximed Zi Han after figuring out Yeoh Lang’s gamey. This thing was most definitely heading for the federation but whether it would seed was another thing.


    “What the fuck was he thinking? Even if he sent one how could he possibly end the entire federation?” asked Zi Han his forehead covered in beads of cold sweat.


    “Unless he sends that one beast to Loch Ness star. All it takes is melting one of the focal points with mes and it’s game over... We have to return to the federation asap.
