<h4>Chapter 92 - Arcade</h4>
Meanwhile, Xiu Mei contemted what kind of clothes should she wear. Dress? Skirt? Shorts?
Her eyes examined the options in front of her. Despite it being a small store, they have a good eye in choosing which clothes to sell.
After finally making a decision, she a denim jumper shorts and a yellow t-shirt to go over underneath it. She didn’t change immediately though as she stood behind the cubicle where Lu Chen was changing.
Xiu Mei looked very anticipated on how the clothes will look like on Lu Chen.
The door clicked open, and Lu Chen exited the cubicle. His appearance caught the attention of every person in the room.
Xiu Mei’s mouth fell open as soon as he saw him.
Oh fudge, who is this heartthrob in front of her?
She already expected that he would still look good wearing a style meant for younger people but she wasn’t expecting that he would look...this hot.
He was wearing a in white t-shirt underneath the denim jacket which fitted him so perfectly in all angles. Somehow, it entuated his broad shoulders and didn’t look tight at all. The ripped jeans which are in a slightly darker color of the denim jacket he was wearingpleted his look.
With his slender thighs, the ripped jeans didn’t look too loose when he wore it but rather, it made him look even younger.
Xiu Mei already pictured Lu Chen wearing matching essories from head to toe and she almost couldn’t stop herself from buying the essories toplete his look.
Damn, if he didn’t be the president and CEO of Lu Corporation, he can still make money off of his looks as a model!
"Wife, are you satisfied with this look?" Lu Chen yfully teased her after seeing her reaction.
It looks like the visual attack works on Xiu Mei as well huh?
Xiu Mei nodded almost instantly with his question. She really couldn’t deny the ring fact in front of her. She couldn’t even tease him that he looked funny!
Look, the saleswoman and the cashier are almost drooling at him right now. They would’ve probably pounced on him the moment he came out of the dressing room if she weren’t there at all.
"Can I fix your hair?" Xiu Mei red at his hair that looked so neat but out of ce with his look.
Since they’re going for a rugged look, won’t having messier hair look better on him?
And since his looks would be really problematic when they go aroundter on, should she make him wear the gold-rimmed spectacles that he usually wore? Or would that backfire instead?
Lu Chen nodded as he bent his body a bit lower so Xiu Mei could fix his hair. She happily destroyed Lu Chen’s neat look and brushed his hair with her hands.
After seeing her artwork, she gave him a toothy grin and a thumbs up, finally happy with his current look.
Lu Chen chuckled at her cute antics.
"Then it’s my turn now." Xiu Mei excitedly went into the dressing room to change. It took her a little longer than usual to change since she changed her current hairstyle as well to match her look.
She put her hair in a casual messy ponytail, trying to make herself look more of a teenager. Happy with her final look, she walked out of the cubicle to show it to Lu Chen who was also waiting for her outside of the cubicle. He looked funny holding a paper bag full of his clothes, and her bag.
"How do I look?" She asked while twirling in front of him to show him her full look.
"You look like Mrs.Lu." Lu Chen teased as he approached her.
Xiu Mei pouted, annoyed at his answer. This man really...
"I’m asking you seriously. How do I look?"
Lu Chen gently smiled at her as he tucked some hair behind her ears. He caressed her hair straightening out some of the strands that stuck out.
"You look amazing, my wife." He honestly spoke out his feelings and praised her.
Xiu Mei was delighted to hear thepliment. While Lu Chen paid for the clothes, Xiu Mei grabbed the clothes she was previously wearing and stuffed it inside the paper bag. The two of them returned to the car to leave the unwanted stuff and just kept their wallets and mobile phones with them.
"So where are we going?"
Xiu Mei asked as she happily skipped while walking. She enjoyed the view in front of her. She can see a lot of street vendors and people stopping to buy some stuff. There were even stores that a lot of people go to.
"We’re going on an after-school date."
After-school date?
Xiu Mei saw therge number of students passing by the area and so, she concluded that they might be somewhere near some high school right now. But she really didn’t expect that Lu Chen would pull her for an after-school date.
That sounded so cringey that she didn’t expect that it woulde out of Lu Chen’s mouth.
"Originally, I nned to have us wear school uniforms but..." Lu Chen trailed his eyes over Xiu Mei’s body and smiled. He didn’t finish his sentence at all but based on what he said and how he looked at her alone, she already understood the message he was trying to say.
She took a step back and put her arms around her chest as if trying to cover something.
This.... Don’t tell me he has a weird fetish, does he?
Lu Chen ignored the weird look she was throwing at him and nonchntly grabbed her hand. He intertwined their fingers together as if they’ve been doing it for so long when in fact, the two of them just started this rtionship less than 3 weeks ago.
"Let’s go to the arcade."
The two of them walked for a little bit more and stopped in front of a medium-sized arcade. Inside, it was full of various games being yed by students and other kids.
Xiu Mei felt nostalgic as soon as she saw this familiar scene. Before, Ying Yue and that jerk of a boyfriend of hers would pull her to this kind of ce back then. They would spend most of their allowances ying here and then she gets an earful of scolding from her mother after knowing that she already ran out of money.
She was immature and a wastrel at that age thinking that as long as her parents were with her, she can go do whatever she wanted and have no problems at all. And man, she sure was proven wrong.
Before she could wallow in her deppression, she quickly returned to her senses the moment Lu Chen pulled her to the basketball machine. He handed her a basketball ball and asked, "Do you know how to y this one?"
Xiu Mei’spetitive spirit lit up to life as she challenged Lu Chen by epting the ball.
"Of course. The person who loses has to pay for dinnerter."
Since she grew up with two brothers, they would sometimes pull her to y basketball when she was younger so she can averagely y basketball. And Ying Yue would also y with her like this back then so she’s very experienced in ying this game in the arcade.
The two of them yed for almost half an hour with Xiu Mei suffering a crushing defeat. With a score of 8 to 2, Lu Chen gloriously won 8 games in a row.
Xiu Mei red at him as Lu Chen grinned at her. This guy... he purposely lost the first 2 games just so he could stimte her into ying more huh.
"Fine, I’ll pay for dinner!" She annoyingly threw the ball back to the machine and stomped away.
Does he think she’s just going to let him win like that? This date won’t be over unless she defeats him!
And so, the two of them spent almost two hours ying their hearts out in the arcade. All the pent up stress from work and other stuff released by ying multiple games.
Xiu Mei didn’t give up and pulled Lu Chen to ying the other game machines. Forgetting the time, they yed until darknesspletely nketed the sky. Xiu Mei waspletely focused in defeating Lu Chen so she did not realize how much time had already passed.
The couple was having the time of their life ying in an arcade that theypletely forgot the existence of the little bun waiting for them at home.
Lu Qiang obediently sat on the couch watching some videos on the television while his eyes would nce from time to time on the wall clock above it. His eyes would sometimes turn towards the door as if waiting for someone to open it. He sat ufortably on the couch as he continued to wait for his parents toe home.
Lu Qiang who was left alone by his parents:...Where’s Mom and Dad? Aren’t they gonnae home?
