    When they saw Zhang Zian in the chatroom, the readers, who had been annoyed by the prankster, thought that he had actually found a book about life, so they moved their chairs and turned back to stare at him. However, they were immediately disappointed.


    Zhang Zian thought he was holding the book gracefully, but in the readers’ eyes, he looked stupid. The readers saw no book in Zhang Zian’s hand, which reminded them of the famous tale, The Emperor’s New Clothes.

    Zhang Zian kept holding the book for a few more seconds so that everyone on the fifth floor could see it clearly, and then lowered the book below his waist. Although it was still unclear what kind of animal the elfin could be, Zhang Zian didn’t think it’d be a giraffe. If he held the book too high, it’d probably be out of the elfin’s reach. He thought that since this book appeared with the elfin, they’d also disappear together. Since the book still existed in this world, the elfin should also still be here.


    Holding the book in his left hand, Zhang Zian raised his cell phone with his right hand to nce around. Still, he didn’t see anything. A few secondster, just as he was starting to worry, the book in his hand was suddenly pulled. He quickly pointed his cell phone at his left hand and a game reminder popped up.

    Zhang Zian widened his eyes and saw nothing at first. After a second, he noticed that there was a outline of a body in the air. First its head, torso, and limbs, and finally, a pair of brown eyes formed. The elfin looked like a kid sitting on a table. Its hand was holding one end of the book, while Zhang Zian’s hand was holding the other, giving him enough time to observe it.


    When its body appearedpletely, Zhang Zian was surprised to find out that this was a baby rhesus monkey, also known as a Macaque Monkey. Rhesus monkeys inhabited South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Southern China. This rhesus monkey was covered in yellow fluff of varying shades, and there were a few shallow wrinkles on its light pink face. Its short tail was hanging down under the table. It seemed frightened and restless, but also looked grateful and excited.


    Then, a pair of old-fashioned pince-nez sses appeared on the monkey’s nose. The two thin lenses connected by a strip of brass metal. The monkey looked at Zhang Zian and then looked at the book. It was using its other hand to draw circles on the table. It seemed as if it was pleading Zhang Zian to give it the book back.


    Zhang Zian wondered about the book. He didn’t want the book, but he wanted to see if the book was really all-epassing. However, the book was crucial to the survival of the Molecr Monkey, so Zhang Zian should return the book.


    So, he released his hand. The Molecr Monkey held the book tightly in its arms and grinned, as if it had won a treasure. In the meantime, Zhang Zian finally pressed the “capture” button on his phone’s screen.

    A rhesus monkey wearing a pair of pince-nez sses and holding a book appeared in the pet’s column.     Other readers couldn’t see the book in Zhang Zian’s hand, nor could they see the Molecr Monkey. They were speechless because, to them, Zhang Zian had been performing a dumb show by himself the whole time.


    Zhang Zian started to feel hungry, so he checked the time. It was after 12 o’clock. He sat down to type.


    [The Hottie]: Well, I’ve asked the prankster to leave the chatroom. Everybody can concentrate on reading without disturbance now.


    [Jackdaw]: Where’s the prankster? We didn’t see anyone go downstairs.


    [The Hottie]: He’s gone. Bye, everyone!


    Zhang Zian quit the chatroom and shut down theputer.


    Mr. Zhou was still sitting next to him, focusing on reading e-books.


    “Mr. Zhou, I’m leaving. Is there anything you don’t understand?” Zhang Zian asked.


    “Uh? You’re leaving so early?” Mr. Zhou was surprised.


    Zhang Zian let Mr. Zhou check the time on his phone and reminded Mr. Zhou, “It’s after 12 o’clock. Mr. Zhou, you should go to lunch too. Healthes first. If you want to continue reading books, you cane backter.”


    “It’s already noon? Time really flies when I’m immersed in books…” Mr. Zhou said, “Well, I’ll go to lunch too. Will youe backter?


    Zhang Zian wasn’t a true reader. Since he achieved his goal, he wouldn’te back. “I have something to doter, so I won’te back to the library.”

    “I’m leaving. See you.”


    He waved to the puzzled Mr. Zhou and left the library. With Zhang Zian gone, Mr. Zhou wanted to leave as well, but then he saw something on the table. He carefully picked up a short hair from the table. Under the sun, he could tell that it was a yellow hair.


    After he went out the gate, Zhang Zian turned around and looked back at the library. On both sides of the tall ss doors, the metal ques were shining brightly under the midday sun. The couplets on the two ques were particrly eye-catching, Diligence is a path through a mountain of books and Industriousness is a boat sailing across the endless sea of study.
