Introduction: From the moment Emile Doux entered the world, hardship seemed to be the backdrop to his life.      Left a foundling on the streets of La Vibrant, Louisiana, a city one hundred miles outside of New Orleans, he is discovered by Michel Doux, a homeless man who is determined to protect and care for him. Even though he has very little to give. As Emile grows, he comes to know Michel as his father and calls him Papa.    At a homeless encampment called the Potpourri Cluster, Michel raises Emile with the help of two close friends, a street musician named Bennett Mirabeau and Tanja Allard, a woman who lost her unborn baby to a miscarriage, nursed Emile and unofficially became his adoptive mother. In this way, an unconventional family forms, struggles but uses love to push through it all.    By the time Emile is a young man, however, life in the Cluster has left Michel weak, quite sickly and unable to provide for himself and Emile any longer. So, it's up to Emile to keep them both fed. Soon enough, Emile is hired to work for a wealthy couple known as Maxime and Felia Legrand.      Maxime, the owner of a successful local seafood restaurant, allowed wealth to go to his head years ago. Now snobbish and cruel, he is quite judgemental of the poor. All he sees when he looks at Emile is a dirty, illiterate hired hand. His wife Felia and their daughter Danique are just the opposite. They look beyond Emile's station and are very kind to him. In time, Emile and Danique become very good friends.     One day, Danique, despite knowing that her father only wants Emile around to work, offers to teach Emile to read and write at the mansion late at night in secrecy in her bedroom. Although he is worried about angering Maxime, he agrees.      As the lessons go on, Emile and Danique begin realizing that they have feelings for each other and upon revealing them, allow themselves to fall deeply into a forbidden love. Still, they both know their relationship must remain a secret from Maxime and Felia.     Soon enough, in their yearning to be together, Emile and Danique begin sneaking around. However, kisses, cuddles and caresses quickly turn to lovemaking. It is during one of these passionate moments, that their daughter Isaline is conceived. Something which changes both of their lives forever. But what exactly does the future hold for Emile, Danique and their child?...
